#15 ETF2L Season 28 Coverage Feedback Thread in TF2 General Discussion

As for last season, thanks a lot for letting me taking the mic from time to time, I really enjoyed it and hopefully I can keep on doing it next season.
As I said in the Grand Final interview, production.casting guys dont get as much credit as they deserve. Yes it's not always perfect, but you're there to make casts happen, and thanks a lot for that.

And because I've been part of the crew this season, any points directly about me are welcome too, so dont hesitate and fire up !!

If I may, these are my answers to some points here.

Mould
I'd say the interviews are wasted, they're just too clinical. give the players space to express personality and rivalries, it usually feels like 'forced professional' instead of an organic interview and the result is generally uninteresting. It would probably be better to have the interviewer be someone in the inner circle who isn't afraid to poke fun at people, when possible.

I strongly feel you on that, but for having run some post-game interviews myself, most of the time it's really hard to get anything interesting out of the players. When I watched casts in the past, I loved interviews because people used to give their opinion, nowadays it's more like "meh game was, it's not like we even try/care anyway".
I agree a bit with you on this topic, but interviews dont solely depend on the casters, players have to be a bit more giving too.

smzi- be more savage/polarizing in your casts (call people out if they beef etc to create more tension and something to talk about in chat)

Again, this is gonna be personnal experience, but iirc, I was a bit harsh on meds during some casts (one being Nunya Black against Choke Bustaz I believe), and I remember the chat getting all like "wtf is he talking about blablabla". I know chat during game is a lot about memes, but getting reactions like these doesnt really encourage you to be somewhat critical towards the players who make mistakes. Plus, when a play happens, we'd rather emphasize the "well played" side of it, rather than the mistake, if that makes sense.

Well played, that was really good games.
Us making it this far and being one map away from the win is already incredible, I dont think anyone would have predicted it so I'm really proud of my team, and I'm really proud of the season we had :)

#42 2018 World Cup in World Events

How can anyone rate Argentina as a favorite ? This is beyond me. Yes they have Messi, but apart from him, they are really struggling, have no game plan. Okay this is Argentina, and they can go beyond expectation, but really, i feel like there are a lot of better teams out there.

I feel like Germany, Spain and Brazil are the clear 3 better teams here, France lacks a proper back line. Yes, our frontline is amazingly promising, but I fear we lack experience and team cohesion to make it to even semi, given we play Uruguay or Spain in the quarters.

fooqpi expect Russia to come to quarter finals the same way Sourth Korea did at 2002

Didnt Korea went into semis in 2002 ? Knocking out both Italy and Spain. No way Russia pulls the same trick off. Imo Egypt will get the 2nd spot along Uruguay.

Many people from outside of France see us as a strong candidate to the title, but here I'd say we are way more pessimistic, hopefully we are wrong !!

Anyway, I think i found this on twitter, but this spreadsheet has a lot of neat and trivia infos, I'll share it here, all credits to the author:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1y3euaZEGejut-omSgNFl_22l1dg2fpTwlRqXJauzlAE/edit#gid=152870686

And here are other trivias I found online, that you guys might enjoy:
Group H is the only group without a former winner of the World Cup.
4 out of 5 times, when France and Denmark face each other in a competition, the winner eventually wins the whole thing. The only time it didnt happen is the last time these two teams played one another in 2002.
In each of their 4 participations to a World Cup, Peru played against the winner-to-be. Yes omens are going in favor of France :D
5 out of 6 times Nigeria qualified for the World Cup, they ended up in the same group as Argentina. Talk about some tough luck (maybe not this time tho)

Streep36Brazil and France in the finals. Brazil to win it

Most likely is that we face Brazil in the semis.
Funny how our group looks "easy", but it's actually the hardest by Elo ranking (which is bullshit).

I like that almost every group has an uncertain outcome, it's really hard to predict the top two teams in each group.
