i found a different version a long time ago from a copy of enigma's hud, and i've been using my own version since then.

pretty sure this is true.

if you're on 1920x1080 res, you should be able to use these without much change other than maybe color. if you're on a different res, this is a starting point.

add this to your hudlayout.res file in your tf/scripts folder.

i'm streaming tf2 for the most part, but might start streaming cs:go, cpm, quake live, etc. i'm playing scout for the IM team eGO.

i just overclocked my cpu yesterday. the way i did it was by boosting my clock ratio by .1 ghz through the bios and then running a 5min prime95 test while checking temps and making sure i didnt catch errors. once i started getting blue screens, i used turbo boost voltage (you might just have to boost the base voltage if your mobo doesnt have something like this) to make my system stable at the boosted speed. did that all the way from 3.3ghz to 4.4ghz and i'm still mainintaing <60 temps under load.

you're wrong about the temperatures thing, at least for intel cpus. sandy bridge generation are throttled down by the bios at 93 degrees and shut off at 98. you really can't cause damage until you hit around 90 is what i've gathered, but i'd say try to keep it beneath 75ish just to stay safe. the main thing is just find a shit ton of forum posts on your specific cpu and mobo and figure out what to do based on that.

when you're done, make sure you let prime95 run like an hour or two test before you get the idea that you're completely stable.

i have vsync disabled in tf2 and in my nvidia control panel. that was the first thing i suspected.

edit: i did some reading about desktop window manager in windows 8. apparently it's essential to windows running correctly now, and it can't be disabled. so that's most likely not the culprit either.

i upgraded to windows 8 after getting my ssd and have noticed a significant amount of input lag since then, but only when im running windowed/noborder. full screen is fine. i always ran windowed/noborder on windows 7, but i also disabled aero on tf2 startup, which shouldn't be a problem since most of the aero stuff doesn't exist in windows 8, but that could be a difference.

any ideas?

i tried to watch a few demos recorded through prec yesterday and they all crashed me too. probably just demos in general causing crashes, not just esea demos.
