#1 Computer Issues in TF2 General Discussion

Yesterday I wanted to play TF2 so I opened it up and started playing. After maybe 30 minutes of playing, three loud "popping" noises went off. They were very loud and almost sounded like fireworks. After that my computer smelled like it was burning and of course, the computer completely crashed. It wont start back up. Anyone know what may have happened? I opened up the computer and nothing looked to be out of place but I haven't actually removed any components. Only upgrades are a video card and a PSU. The video card is a NVIDIA gtx560 and the PSU is a thermaltake. If anyone could help that would be great.

#28 Anyone use the Zowie EC1 evo? in Hardware

Because I am not much of a tech guy, especially for mice, would you guys recommend staying away from wireless mouses as far as TF2 goes? Sorry my post doesn't really have to do with your mouse dilemma.

ProtatoTry verifying the integrity of your game.

I've done that, didn't work. I'm pretty sure its overheating.

GrImpartialyou kept the default resources and scripts, right?

Yes I kept everything how it was. It may be from overheating. That's what some are saying.

#1 TF2 Crashing Issues in TF2 General Discussion

TF2 has been crashing randomly for the last day or two. This has never happened before and even after I verified my game cache and checked that my graphics cards or drivers needed updating, it still happened. The only thing that I have done in the last few days has been changing to garm3n HUD, but I don't think this should have to do with the crashing.

EDIT: From what I have heard from the little research on this topic and talking to random people on servers, my computer may be overheating. The room I play in can get hot because my old house does not have AC.

#100 Sorta retiring in TF2 General Discussion

Sad to see someone that I actually enjoyed watching and listening to go, but I am happy that you are finally moving on. It's good to see that you are re-evaluating your life and doing something more important. (not that tf2 isn't important, of course)

Just a quick question. How do you get the crosshair from tf2 to go away so that it is ONLY your crosshair?

EDIT: Figured it out. Best hud ever btw!

#5 General Steam-pipe Help in TF2 General Discussion
hanbroloThis should help with most of these general questions: http://etf2l.org/forum/general/topic-25164/page-1/

The new directory for custom content is common/team fortress 2/tf/custom/*any name*/cfg.
replace cfg with resource, script, etc. That should be all you need if reinstalling custom content is your only concern.

Thanks!

#1 General Steam-pipe Help in TF2 General Discussion

Everything is working generally well for steam-pipe however my stabby-stabby spy scripts are gone and so is my scout null movement script, along with my HUD (PV-HUD). This is not a huge deal because they are easy to find and easy to configure back to how I wanted them, but I am curious as to where I am supposed to put the scripts, now that there is a common folder, and also where the HUD file goes. I have not done anything yet because I do not want to make tf2 crash/messed up, but I do enjoy PV-HUD and my scripts! If anyone can help with this, that would be great!

#5 Steampipe (maybe) related problem in Q/A Help

I used a null movement script for scout, and some stabby spy scripts. What will happen to these now?

EDIT: I see that the .cfg folders have been cleared for all classes which is a bummer. Only question left, is the .cfg folder in common still the place where I should put my scripts? And will my brothers account have these scripts in them as well because now there is one common folder?

#9 NHL playoffs :P in Off Topic

As a Pens fan for life, i'm hoping to see Pens vs. Chicago but I wouldn't be surprised if Canucks get in. If the Maple Leafs make it to the cup, the NHL should shut down. Maple Leafs vs. Canadians would be awesome too though.
