Zowie EC2 eVo is an amazing mouse. No prediction or mouse acceleration and has built in drivers. The mouse is pretty small and works well for claw grips (Zowie EC1 eVo is for palm grippers, shapped similarly to a Deathadder).

Logitech drivers make me go insane.

I don't get the hate either. You can disable the Metro UI and make it look like Windows 7 but with better boot time and some added security. Sounds pretty good to me so far.

Consider using fps_max. I would get 600+ and with intense fights or walking through a cloud (medic taunt) would drop me below 100. With the cap, the frame rate drop is much less and the game feels smoother to me.

The rule of thumb that I use is double your refresh rate plus one for fps_max.

Try getting something used from deskthority.net. You see sellers in the EU sometimes; you just have to be patient and wait for someone trying to sell.

Mumble and Fraps both have fps counters that can be moved around.
