If a buddy is allowed to play, it can only be medic. That being said, it does lead to a shortage of medics being introduced into the game. That's the only issue I ever had with this. A lot of buddies want to play - which is understandable- but doing so prevents newbies from playing and learning the class.
Medic is probably the most unpopular class to begin with...
On the other hand I imagine there would be much less people willing to buddy / mentor a team if they couldn't participate.

This was before I discovered comp: I remember 3 IRL friends and I did a mini LAN playing various games, among them TF2. And we all set up an Engineer defense on the second stage of Dustbowl. We were literally shouting at each other to help out removing sappers from spies when we were dead and stuff. Was intense af, but we won! :D

Also when I was still on my old laptop it would overheat every couple minutes and lag like crazy so I would hold it outside my open window in between MVM waves in order for it to cool off just enough that I could continue.

Dunno if it's a thing in the US and it can be a bit expensive, but red lentil pasta actually tastes pretty nice and has insane amounts of protein.
Texture is tricky though, they tend to either be overcooked or too al dente. Hard to get them just right.

Appreciate the kind words but in all likelyhood there won't be another LAN at the RCADIA. Not only in 2023 but probably ever.
We (Phoenix Red) are always open for opportunities to fill the november slot, but nothing is imminent for 2023 atm.

We have been approached - especially during the RCADIA LAN last november - by many members of the community whether we would be interested in taking over the summer slot. Again, we are appreciative of the support, but despite everything we wouldn't mess or compete with insomnia (and essentials.tf as the current host, for that matter) due to its deep roots. Should they shoot themselves in the foot or there be no more traction for a TF2 event at the festival, it can be an intriguing option to look for something to fill the void in 2024.
That being said, we would also not touch and save insomnia if essentials were ever to withdraw from organising.

Personally, I think it is a massive mistake of Player1 Events to move the event to another date. Either their business decision is a bad one or they were indeed too late to book the weekend, which is outright embarrassing imo.
My desire to go there was low to begin with and now has dropped to almost zero.
