#19 Started a new 6s Team! Lots of questions in Q/A Help

Just advertise low low scrims in IRC, some nights you will get wrecked others you won't, but gaining experience even in beatdowns will help. If your team is mostly in Cali, get a server in Dallas, also when you purchase your server, make sure it has 14 slots at least if not 18 (so people can spec). Lastly, get a team mentor to spec a couple scrims a week. (I am assuming your team is not total comp noobs and do understand the concpets of 6s from pugs, mixes, lobbies)

#102 ESEA S14 Map Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

So basically there are no quality maps to replace Viaduct, Gpit, or possibly Metalworks is what this thread is telling me. I like all 3 of those maps just fine enough, so really, Im voting no change unless someone convinces me Standin is better then any of those 3, I kinda like Standin.

#1 ESEA IM First Round Preds in TF2 General Discussion

Alright here's my short IM preds since nobody seems to be doing any. These are just my opinions, feel free to add yours.

#1 Chill to Good vs #8 Kawaii 5-0: I'll say first off this is not an easy game to pick as one would assume in the usual 1v8 matchup. Chill to Good has the heavy class advantage here, and up untill Moonchild left I'd say the flank was even, which I would have thought confindently tilted the match in favor of Chill to Good. But a new look Chill might have their hands full in this one. Kawaii 5-0 will look to make plays on the flank with their very strong scout duo of Ukm and Decimate. Their outstanding DM will puncture holes and allow for plays to be made and rounds won. That said the Dunn/Shrew combo is just a load to deal with and Duns knack for smashing the flank with ubers likely lead to the win here minimizing the Kawaii 5-0 advantages. A close game goes 5-3 in Chills favor.

#4 Mario Party vs #5 Instant Breakfast: This is the best match of the first round. The scout battle should be interesting, with the underated Watt holding his own against a tough Instant Breakfast scout duo. But lets face it, Thorn is badass, so I'll tip the scout battle slightly in instant breakfast favor. With that said, Mangachus creativity allows for the Mario Party to make plays, as the scouts do their thing, he will make some key picks making the flank a big old mess to call. So can Phrakture handle Marma and unff? Really I think that's where this game is won. If unff can be smacked around by the Party combo, they will win. If unff goes unchecked and goes big like he is very capable on Snake, I expect breakfast to win. Match is too close to call, magic eightball says Mythikal kritz to last wins 5-4 Mario Party.

#3 Runaway5 vs #6 Snailboats Boat: Should be highly entertaining match. I think R5 at this point is firmly entrenched as a top 3 IM team, and should win this game. However, If they are not playing with their normal cohesion they will be in big trouble in this matchup. Snailboats scout pair is very aggro, and Bman and can be a bigtime headache onto R5s combo if they aren't playing very disciplined. Any sloppy play by R5 will cost them rounds here. Downpour and friends on flank though, don't play sloppy very often. Duwatna is dabes, so I don't think he lets them get into him. R5 takes a pretty close game 5-3.

#2 Madmen vs #7 Royalty: Against any of the other 6 opponents in IM, Royalty would have a good chance to win. Up and down and inconsistent is what led to their poor seed; as talent says they should have finished higher. A matchup vs lan capable Madmen though is too much for them here. I could go on and on about Blank this and RR that and Mike blah blah but it's all filler; 5-2 Madmen. 5-0 if snoopy plays.

Hoping for some good games, and good luck the participants, cheers.
