#7 Improving player visibility help in Customization

I actually messed around in the color settings in my graphics drivers to make things 'pop' a bit more. Seemed to help. Also, using unlit character models helped quite a bit, though I think that only works on sv_pure 0.

#2 game crashes in Q/A Help

start the game with the -condebug launch option and paste the contents of your console.log file here (the file should end up in your tf folder.

Also, if you want to start the game in safe mode, which will reset every cvar, then click this: steam://runsafe/440

#49 How many languages can you speak? in Off Topic

I'm fluent in English, and I speak enough Spanish and French to carry on a conversation, but I'm not what you'd call fluent.

I can also read Hangul, though I still need to put in a lot of work on my vocabulary.

If a player plays smart and doesn't have an awful personality, then they're worth picking up. Bad DM is fixable, having a tiny brain is not.

History is irrelevant unless they're like, a known cheater, or have killed every team they've been on for 8 seasons in a row.

#18 DM thread in TF2 General Discussion
funhaver1998Interesting thoughts Antimoon. Once again you prove yourself to be a thinking player.

What are your thoughts on the controversial use of health packs in DM?

This is the first I've heard of healthpacks being controversial. If you're running away from a fight to get to one, then you're wasting your time. If you're hurt and you're near one, then pick it up. If you're fighting someone near one, the healthpack can be used to your advantage as either bait or for a health advantage, which is an interaction that comes up frequently in actual games.

Also, and I really can't stress this enough, who cares? DM is literally a mode where the optimal thing to do is just shut off your brain and shoot people. If someone gets a health pack, then that just means that you can shoot them more. It's really a waste of brainpower to worry about what other people do in DM servers.

#10 DM thread in TF2 General Discussion

Basically the only things you shouldn't do in DM are run from fights or place sticky traps as a demo. DM is just aim and movement practice, if your primary goal is to survive, then you're not really getting much out of it. Take every fight you can, even if you're at a disadvantage, because whether you win or lose you're going to get resupplied afterwards.

Then again, fuck it. Play how you wanna play and just have fun, I'm not the dad of you.

#24 Ban the "b4nny bind" in TF2 General Discussion
OlghaAntimoonMakWhy does the American meta revolve around pingBecause we have states bigger than your countryand you still suck at Olympic games :^)

The US has the most olympic medal wins of any country, by a margin of about 700. I'm gonna guess that you're from France, by your flag, a country with fewer total medal wins than the US has gold medals.

For real though, the significant distance between US players, and the larger percentage of rural area per square mile means that ping is a much bigger problem here. There's less telecom infrastructure over a significantly larger area. Europe, by comparison, has a bunch of smaller, denser countries with a lot more ability to ensure that there's relatively decent internet everywhere.

Yeah, people should have to walk to their team if they spawn before a point is capped too, screw all that "backspawning" BS.

This is a dumb complaint about something that has very little impact on the game. If this is at the top of your priority list for problems with TF2, then congratulations, you're having a better time than most players. It should probably not carry over ubercharge %, but that's against the rules anyways, so whatever.
