Consolemy mom tells me she loves me more than anything and at the same time that none of my depression/anxiety issues are relevant enough to warrant wanting to die just because she was physically abused as a child. My parents both also say that they do literally everything for me even though my desperate need for treatment for ADD/ADHD has yet to be resolved despite me begging for a year now to see a psychiatrist or specialist. What the fuck kind of person tells their kid their problems dont matter when they want to die
I was just diagnosed with ADD back in September and I can tell you that if you're like me then getting medication (I was prescribed Concerta) can and will make a gigantic positive difference in how you feel and think and behave. Adderall XR is an extended release generic version of Adderall which is decently cheap compared to most ADD/ADHD meds. If your school performance is struggling because of your ADD/ADHD there's a good chance that a good prescription will make a world of difference.
My only warning is that a lot of ADD meds are amphetamines or other stimulants and they act as vasoconstrictors, so they can lead to a pseudo-erectile dysfunction. I really hope you get the treatment you need though cause I feel so much happier and so much more normal now than I thought I could feel. Tell your mom the wonders that meds can do for school performance. Good luck.
