Which Mouse? Logitech G400 or CM Storm Recon?

Hello! I play Team Fortress 2 competitively and I have been searching for a new mouse to "keep up with me." The mouse I currently use is a Logitech M305 (A lame-ass travel mouse) that I got as a gift. I play with a palm-grip by the way, but a hybrid could work too. Now, I'm searching for a new mouse that doesn't break the bank. I have decided and narrowed it down to 2 mice that I feel could work. The first one is a Logitech G400. I have heard a lot of great things about this guy. Its a palm grip, comes form a great series and manufacturer, and has a lot of perks. The second one is called the CM Storm Recon, which is ambidextrous and also has good reviews.

If you need links, these are the 2 mice.

So, my questions are...
*Which mouse is a better long term investment
*Which mouse is more durable
*Which mouse would YOU choose if you were in my shoes

Thanks for all the help! I will update later which mouse I end up with :)

I've never tried to CM Storm Recon but all I could say about the G400 is that it works fine for me(had it for 6 months). Apparently, the wiring isn't the best for a lot of people so you would have to take care of it. The sensor on the G400 is also pretty good so that's a plus. Get a G400.

I vote neither... Realize that G400's with the flawless sensors of yesteryear are no longer available for purchase. Not to mention every week it seems like there is a post here about someone's cable on their G400 breaking.

The best palm grip mouse currently on the market is the Zowie EC1 eVo. Why?

Pros:
- Flawless sensor
- Perfect for palm gripping.
- Really nice rubber texture that doesn't make my hand sweat like the rubber on my Mamba.
- Very lightweight
- Cable is really lightweight as well, since getting the mouse I am pleasantly surprised that it is not a braided cable (which adds weight/stiffness)
- Huge mousefeet, they glide really well on both my glass mousepad (Icemat) and my cloth mousepad (Qck+).
- Also comes with a spare pair of mouse feet.
- No annoying drivers (I'm looking at you Razer).
- "Notchy"/Heavy Scroll wheel - great for FPS games where you intend to only scroll the wheel a specific number of 'steps'.

Cons:
- "Notchy"/Heavy Scroll wheel - not so great for using internet browsers or games where you want to scroll in and out really quickly.
- Can't turn off the LED that illuminates the mousewheel.
- Tracking problems with multicolored mousepads. Just get a black mousepad like everyone else.

#5: Does the new edition of the G400 really have a worse sensor?

after googling cm storm recon (which is more research than anyone in this thread will do), I've found out that it has a perfect sensor at 800 and 1600 dpi (you don't need higher than 1600 tbh) and it doesn't really have any internal issues. The same goes for the g400, which also has a perfect sensor.

However theres more to mice than sensors. If you can you should try out the cm storm recon and see if you like how it feels. Most of the problems that people have with the recon are due to its shape and size, and also it's apparently thick and heavy cable. You should also try out the g400 and see how it feels as well. The main issue with the g400 at this point is that its cable easily frays and apparently, you can't get it replaced anymore if it does.

Many report the zowie's to have top-tier tracking on solid color mousepads, but minor issues with multi color pads (i.e. puretrak talent). They are fantastic mice, though

I've had a CM Storm mouse before and they're amazing, though I haven't tried either of these.
(only switched cause I broke it)

Ah yeah, I forget about the multicolored jitter issue because I've always had a black mousepad and not many people have Puretrak Talents. Easier and cheaper to just go with the standard SteelSeries Qck+ or Qck Heavy.

Added that to the con's list.

using a zowie fk on a puretrak talent right now and I haven't noticed any tracking issues, even when i experimented with 50cm/360. Using 1150dpi if that means anything

I would recommend a g400, but unless they fixed the wiring problem, I wouldn't get it. I had mine for maybe 6-8 months and it just stops working randomly. Get something by zowie, like the sensei, it hsould last you forever.
