I'm going to be upgrading my pc tomorrow and the parts I'm looking for is:
7870 tahiti LE edition - http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/XFX+Double+D+Radeon+HD+7870+GHz+Edition+%28Tahiti+LE%29+OC+2GB+GDDR5+Graphics+Card+%5BFX-787A-CNAC%5D+%2B+4+FREE+GAMES%21+?productId=55140

8gb of ddr3 ram - http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/RAM/DDR3/Single+Modules/8GB+Mushkin+Enhanced+BlackLine+Frostbyte+%23992069+%281x8GB%29+1600+%28PC3-12800%29+240-Pin+DDR3+SDRAM+CAS+9-9-9-24+1.5V+?productId=53336

Need help choosing processor. Looking into an AMD processor since I don't have too much money. Probably 8350 or 6350. Any suggestions?

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 - http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Motherboards/AMD+Socket/Socket+AM3%2B+Piledriver+FX/GIGABYTE+GA-990FXA-UD5+AMD+990FX+%28Socket+AM3%2B%29+ATX+Motherboard+?productId=55019

I'm pretty confident on the graphics card but the other parts I'm not sure. Any comments or any help appreciated. Point out if I'm doing anything wrong

Motherboard is great, I have one and it's very sturdy, no problems. I would go with different RAM, you could probably get cheaper RAM @ 1866 with the same size, at least in the US.

Budget is around 550 euro/$714/ or about £470 on that website. Shipping is like 20 pounds so about 450 on that website.

@waldo, How far did you get it to overclock? I'm not looking for anything extreme but if it can reach 5Ghz then that's probably more than I will even need before I upgrade again. Considering getting UD3 instead since I'm on a bit of a tight budget...

And there's no other memory that's cheaper on that site and I'm not sure I want to get it from another website because +shipping costs might not make up for it but thanks for telling, I'll see what I can do about that

I'm running a FX-4100 @ 4.6 atm, I tried a 5.2 OC and the board had no trouble with it. I guess I don't know much about shipping to the EU, but is it really that much from Newegg? I have 16GB of RAM @ 1866. Cost about $75 or £45 or €53. I would think that shipping wouldn't be that much, given that RAM is by no means large or heavy.

Mushkin makes some pretty nice RAM, so that's good enough. Also, I recommend using the GIGABYTE-990FXA-UD3 instead of the UD5.

tornados2111Happen to know how far it can overclock?

They pretty much have the same overclocking abilities. It's just that the UD5 has 5 PCI-E Slots and 8 SATA 6gb/s while the UD3 has 4 PCI-E Slots and 6 SATA gb/s

You probably would want to get 2x4gb of ram, not a single 8gb stick, unless you plan on getting a second one soon. You lose performance by only using one slot

You'll need a good power supply to overclock the AMD chip. 500W or less won't cut it.
