After trying countless times to run Lawena and constantly failing, I am not sure what I am screwing up
I launch Lawena normally from the folder and let it replace my TF2 config and everything, but when it attempts to edit my registry and I give it permission, it replaces my old config and goes as if I had not clicked to launch TF2
I have checked the error files in Lawena and enabled mini dumping accordingly.
I do not believe this is steampipe related as I have reinstalled Lawena
several times to ensure correct mapping of the directories.
I have attempted to use the fixes found in other threads on this site such as launching TF2 through steam when Lawena would say "Starting TF2," though it merely closes TF2 when it asks permission to edit the registry.
When run as an admin, it does not ask permission and instead closes shortly after playing the game intro
I have tried all options through compatibility mode as well, to no luck
Computer Specs
OS Windows 8
Graphics Card - Nvidia GTS 450
As of this post I have 23.6 GB of free space

I apologize in advance if I have done any wrong by posting this thread.
And a big thank you to anyone who reads this wall of text. If I forgot anything please say so and I will fix it as soon as I see it

I made a short video about fixing lawena. Works fine for me, hopefully this solution works for others.

I tried what you showed in your video and reinstalled again as well to no avail, in addition to running it through compatibility mode, also without luck

I'll definitely look into pldx now, I'm at my wit's end sadly. Thanks again to everyone who read this
