Don't drop the SOAP-DM! Help needed with configs

Hey guys, I have a question or two about SOAP-Deathmatch. I have a rotation server with mostly competitive maps and players rtv, nominate and choose the next map. I have soap installed and can turn it on and off manually but I am interested in maybe enabling the mod in the beginning of the map for maybe the first 3 minutes or so. After that 3 minutes (or say first person to 10 kills) I would like SOAP to turn off and the round starts as normal. Then on the next map change it does it again. I only have maps that work with SOAP so there will be no spawn issues there. I see a setting to set the frag limit I believe but im pretty certain the map changes once the limit is reached. So if any admins out there reach this thread and knows a lil summin summin about this I would appreciate the help.

s4l1.game.nfoservers.com ------------- 24/7 Harvest 24 slots

s4l2.game.nfoservers.com ------------- 24/7 MGE MOD/Jump maps (loaner server to mTs Platinum Highlander team)

s4l3.game.nfoservers.com ------------- Competitive Rotation Server

All of our servers are Absolutely No Criticals, No random spread.

I think you would need to create a plugin that would look for those specific conditions then unload SOAP DM

Hey Fog thanks for the reply. Small TF2 world as a quick Google search on SOAP DM and I ran across some forums with you posting in it to help someone install it and Fzero whom plays in my servers often was on there as well.

Im not much of a SM coder to be honest but thanks for letting me know what I'd have to do to achieve this. You know how when you make a TF2 Lobby, at the start its SOAP DM until teams ready up. Maybe I can make it lobby style play. Decisions decisions.

The lobby style of play uses mp_tournament. Usually tournament servers are private server and not really used on public servers. I'd expect a bunch of either abuse or complete lack of understanding of how tournament mode works from users on a public server.

While we're slightly on this topic sort of:

I've been trying to install pregame SOAP on to my server, where it's in SOAP for pregame then turns off for tournament mode.
The problem is that the effects of SOAP (Health restore on kill, fast spawn) carry over to the actual game.

Halp? :c

Sherb, it seems as though SOAP is not disabling itself for tournament mode. Are you using sv_tournament 1 ??? Are you doing 6's matches or Highlander matches? Depending on which one I would suggest using the proper UGC/ESEA configs and those will make sure soap gets shut off. I am not 100% on this but from my experience this is what they do.

I'm using an ETF2L 6v6 config, so from I gather it should be okay.
I may have installed the plugin wrong, however. Multiplay has a horrible interface

You should type this in console "exec soap_live" to disable soap and all the other unused sourcemod plugins for tournament mode such as

sm plugins unload admin-flatfile
sm plugins unload adminhelp
sm plugins unload antiflood
sm plugins unload autoupdate
sm plugins unload basebans
sm plugins unload basechat
sm plugins unload basecomm
sm plugins unload basecommands
sm plugins unload basetriggers
sm plugins unload basevotes
sm plugins unload clientprefs
sm plugins unload funcommands
sm plugins unload funvotes
sm plugins unload nextmap
sm plugins unload playercommands
sm plugins unload reservedslots
sm plugins unload soap_tf2dm
sm plugins unload sounds

notice the unload soap_tf2dm[/u]

Hope this helps?

The soap live.cfg config file is in the cfg/sourcemod folder

ppsshhh no problem man glad to help. Hopefully I have given the proper directions. You know I have found another cfg file for soap that simply unloads soap. That file is simply soap_off.cfg it is located in the tf/cfg folder and within it is:

sm plugins unload soap_tf2dm

When I use my server to create a lobby soap is on by default until everyone ready's up. Once teams are readied up, im not sure exactly what config it runs to shut it off but it does it automatically.

Quick statement for you. Once you execute the proper ETF2L config you should have to reload the map. Thats what I have to do with UGC and ESEA configs. Onc e the map is reloaded soap is activated and then teams ready up to start the tourny.
