top5rocket is currently the most tenured team to play in ETF2L Season 34, with a history that started in Season 18. However, the Frenchies have not been as active during more recent times, as their return to the top-flight last season was the first time they played together since Season 30. In spite of their potential rustiness, top5rocket managed to contend for the 4th spot up until the very last matchday. Now with a slightly adjusted roster, they are looking to improve on that performance.
Previously playing as the pocket Scout, dmoule will be moving back to the roamer spot, where he found most of his glory when playing for LEGO. An unpredictable Soldier with both strong aim and off-classing capacities, dmoule will surely be eager to prove that he's still got it. He will pass down the pocket Scout role to his old LEGO partner sorex, who recently had a very strong performance at i65 with top5sons, managing to reach 5th place.
At the press conference before liftoff, lead astronaut Corbac gave reporters his thoughts:
We were hesitant about keeping up playing this season and decided to go for it at the last minute. We gladly picked-up sorex as pocket scout and therefore had to switch to English comms. His incredible dedication to fragging makes up for the language sacrifice undoubtedly .Then we discovered that Ombrack was unable to play frequently due to work commitment, so we managed to pick up Ace to replace him as in-game leader. He seems to fit right in so we're also glad about that.In the end we got a keen and skillful roster so I'm very excited about this upcoming season and hope for the best.
Corbac, Néo, and Elacour have all played for top5rocket last season, with each of them becoming experienced Premiership players now. Although they've played together for a long time, it is interesting to note that their best results often came with sponsorships, and they will surely look to bring some glory to the top5rocket name by itself as well. Corbac and Elacour have been hailed as top-class players for quite a while, and it’ll be interesting to see how they work together on the combo. And with the decision of putting Néo on the flank, it is a great way to showcase his matrix-esque dodging.
Finally, Ace jumps in, rebounding after parting ways with Rakuzan, the team he won Division 1 with last season. Ace is an experienced Medic, who previously won High with another iteration of Rakuzan in Season 28, and has had a lot of game time in the second-highest division over the years. His vocal style of play should help him fill Ombrack's shoes quite well.
With their Ace up their sleeve, top5rocket is made up of:
- Scout: sorex
- Scout: Néo
- Roamer: dmoule
- Pocket: Corbac
- Demoman: Elacour
- Medic: Ace
