I recently had a change in plans so im able to go but it says "sold out" this would be my first time going to an event so i need a bit of help. any heads up or tips would be nice.

Were you looking to buy a BYOC (Bring your own computer, to play) or just a spectator ticket?
I just checked https://www.theticketfactory.com/insomnia/online/ and weekend tickets are still available, it's just the early bird rate that's sold out.

all im looking to do is watch some tf2 and meet people, not really to play or do anything like that

Then you want either a weekend ticket or day tickets from link I posted above, whichever is least expensive. Don't buy priority access, there's no use if you're just here for TF2.
