Hello all

I'm looking to get my first mechanical keyboard and I have no idea which one to buy, apart from avoiding overpriced rgb light gimmicks

Straight to the point, here's what I'm looking for:

  • Nothing too overpriced, budget of about 100 euros
  • Available on Amazon and in Azerty (shoot me)
  • No extremely loud clicks (its fine if the keys are heavy, I don't want a loud keyboard though)
  • Durable

Apart from that it should be wired (well yeah). It would be used for both work and csgo/tf2.

Anything from Cooler Master is pretty durable and fairly priced. You want to look at liner and Tactile switches

switch wise, you'll probably be looking into cherry mx red or brown switches. Here is an online guide I found that's very helpful to understanding what kinds of switches. I'd recommend the rapid-i 10 keyless keyboard from cooler master, since that's my favorite keyboard. But there are plenty of full keyboards with a number pad and such that you could find from cooler master that are very good.

Something else you may want to take into consideration is whether or not you want all the keys or a a tenkeyless. Think about your desk size, a tenkeyless makes a big difference if it's an issue at all.

Can recommend Corsair Vengeance K65 (Cherry mx red) as it's what I'm currently using, but I'm sure there are cheaper options

*insert CM Storm Quickfire TK suggestion here*

But in all serious it's your best option. Right now on Amazon there's a Quickfire Rapid, which is tenkeyless and on sale right now

When I was doing research for my first mechanical keyboard, I researched about switches, then chose based on the overall feel of the keyboard with my preferred switches. I chose MX Browns because they have tactile feedback but aren't as loud and a little lighter to press than Blues.

I'd recommend the Corsair K70. I don't know how much it goes for in Europe, but the non-RGB version is obviously cheaper (I paid about $140 Canadian for mine), and is a better deal anyway because you get USB passthrough on the back of it. It looks like a professional keyboard, so if you ever wanted to bring it somewhere, it doesn't look like a toy. It also comes with a wrist rest, which is really nice.
