Razer Deathadder 3.5G Problems

I've had my DA for 2-3 years now, and it's giving me a lot of grief.
If I use the legacy drivers, the mouse will freeze for half a second every 7ish seconds unless I end the razerhid process, which will cause my laptop to bluescreen after ~2 minutes.
If I use Synapse, the mouse will frequently freeze and lose its settings/sensitivity for 5-10 seconds, and sometimes Synapse crashes outright.

Is my mouse dying, or are these problems just inherent in the model? The issue with the legacy drivers has been occurring for at least 2 years.

I had the same exact problem when I had my 3.5G.

What I did, do whatever settings you want for legacy and then completely uninstall the driver. It will keep your settings and the freezing will stop happening.

Or just get a different mouse brand like Zowie (highly recommend)

i remember reading about that freezing issue with the 3.05 version of the 3.5g legacy drivers.
try 3.03 (in stead of 3.05) and see if that changes anything.

just fyi, synapse is bad to use for changing dpi on the older deathadders. you really want to use the legacy drivers for the 3g and 3.5g models.

personally, i did what slemnish did. changed settings with the legacy drivers, then just uninstalled it.
(however, the LED settings don't seem to get saved on the mouse, only the polling rate and dpi.)

i honestly don't think your mouse is dying. razer software has always been problematic, both legacy and synapse. to this day people have issues with their software. gg razer

While you're at it downgrade your firmware to make your mouse1/mouse2 latency be sensible again
