Should Saloon.tf Verify This Match?

Nobody expects an invite player to leave their roster mid match. I've come to the conclusion that saloon.tf should create a rule that states in the situation of a starting player leaving the roster whether it be through quitting or getting cut the match should not be verified for it was an evidently unfair game completely out of the hands of the better.

When you make a rule it doesn't suddenly apply retroactively. You're basically fucked even if they add a rule against this in the future (which seems unlikely imo).

actually youre good i forgot that seymour is a fucking god

still how could you even have thought this was a good bet to make? You have to have known that Clockwork and ash basically stopped playing TF2, and if you didn't you're a fucking moron for doing no research before risking $400

This just isn't true

csgl rule #14If player(s) disconnect from a game or a match for whatever reason and the team chooses to play on the bets will remain. The same applies if a game starts with missing player(s).

We'll have to discuss this internally but I feel that even if we enact a new rule to cover this, it should only apply to future matches.

Either way, nothing is certain yet.

thanks for responding geel, it's good to know you're still refining the rules to create a better saloon

i didnt bet but the risk of betting is who wins and who loses, not whos team tilts and has a player leave midgame. Lets say youre betting on a baseball game. Youve been doing your research and looking at the numbers and you bet big on team X because team X is statiscally better in every sense. Now at the bottom of the 4th inning, your pitcher (X) just leaves. Walks out, no iniuries, no family drama, just decides im going to walk out. Now, is that fair betting, sure will say "luck didnt go your way" but with sports betting its all skill on looking at numbers and performance. You wouldnt have known ash was going to leave, unless you were ash.

Ya but in that case I really doubt any reputable company is going to revert the win even if the pitcher leaves. They have backups for situations like this. It's no different from if the pitcher pulled a muscle or in tf2's case ash's internet died.

Also betting $400 on one match is fucking insanity unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars to bet.

just to play devils advocate, you wouldn't refund a bet on a football game because your starting quarterback got injured in the first quarter.

My personal, unofficial stance is that "shit happening" is part of the consideration for betting. Shit happens sometimes and as a result a team loses.
