Issue with updating Windows 8.1 - Corrupt dll?

Lately, on startup, I've sometimes been getting the error that netprofm.dll "is not compatible with windows." At the same time, I can no longer do Windows updates. It just gets stuck on the configuration screen when I go into windows update manually and doesn't do any updates on start up either. Full system scan with Norton (paid version) doesn't bring up anything, cccleaner found issues in the registry but those were all fixed, according to the paid trial. sfc /scannow wasn't able to fix it

This isn't an extremely big issue that needs fixing immediately, since my pc still works fine in all areas apart from being able to update Windows lol. I'd like to get it up to date so I can reserve Windows 10. Laptop does not have this issue and already has one reserved. I have no access to a Windows install disc in case anyone is going to propose this as a fix. I didn't get any when I bought this pc. Windows is a legit version though I wish they'd have given me a disc :p

Any ideas are appreciated. No, I won't download a dll from those super legit websites that offer windows dlls :>
