my pc is really bad, so I really need a good cfg, i don't care about graphics and making my tf2 look like minecraft.

win+r
type msconfig
enter
go to services
***tick "hide all microsoft services"
disable all except for the stuff you actually use
still in msconfig, go to startup
disable everything except for the things you actually use
don't worry about disabling something important, the only actually important stuff are the microsoft services which you should've hid
this will ensure no unwanted background applications are using your resources

click start
search for "performance opt"
click adjust her performance and appearance of windows
select "adjust for best performance"

turn off steam overlay
turn off mumble overlay
use comanglia fps config as others have mentioned
use dxlevel 81
make sure your driver is updated
make sure your power settings are set to power mode or w/e its called
use a low res if you have to, theres a hud out there designed for 640x480 res
use nohats mod: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/16179/no-hats-mod/
check the last pages for latest versions
use clean tf2: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/21756/prism-hud-clean-tf2
read the readme, you can mix and match the addons to suit your needs

if the above doesnt work then there is no hope and you should start saving for a new pc

hooliturn off steam overlay

Does that still improve fps? I remember it used to have a huge impact or something but I remember hearing about that being fixed
