Logic-devoid platitudes / throwaway empty phrases like "aim your stickies" and "wahh I can't destroy everyone" are easy ways to dismiss counterarguments while swaying over emotionally-driven individuals.

Funny thing is that pubbers still think the same exact things as before so nerf is a failure in intent anyway:

I like how when the original (dumb) damage ramp up nerf came about everyone bitched (rightfully so) and said that a radius ramp up would be fair. Now they actually do a radius ramp up nerf and you're still complaining about getting nerfed? Yeah ok.

Also in response to Magikarp, a lot of players have always thought demo was kind of OP, not in an overbearingly offensive way but definitely more powerful than the rest, but after 7 years of Valve not changing him at all other than dumb unlocks we all just accepted it as a fact of life and kept playing.

MagikarpBut the buff to the nade launcher is definitely a message from Valve saying to start aiming with these and use these more. It's understandable, a slight problem is that you only have 4 nades, and unlike stickies, if you miss you can't just "detonate" them, same goes for rockets, but the way you aim rockets and nades are a bit different in the end. I'm not saying that this is the best option, but maybe having 6 nades in a clip(heck the model shows 6 slots right?) and decreasing the amount of stickies in a clip might be one way that Valve would see that would work. As it is harder to aim pipes than shoot stickies in a pub, the pubbers can deal with it until those people get better at pipe aim and start complaining to Valve again.

and since when is demo good long range, charging stickies every 3 seconds for 30 damage is good?

Don't forget how pipe spam is also really effective at quite long range, since there is no damage fall off, I think it's really fair it has such high self damage, if it had lower self damage demo would be even more OP since scouts would also have a harder time dealing with him.

I'm not a great demo (my highest qualification is highlander plat scout), so while i can dunk 10-year-olds in pubs, competitive players are significantly harder to hit than they were before. And that's awesome. I don't practice demo so i shouldn't be able to do well against people that know what they're doing, when previously i could.

If anything, this nerf makes the difference between bad demos and good demos bigger, which is why i like it. I don't even think about the nerf when fighting demos because the good ones still mess you up if you give them space to
