interestingly voting doesn't require any sort of email validation so writing meaningful comments probably means more
Used the same email address and deleted cookies, still increased the vote count 4 times.
That being said, getting it higher than dota2 and CS would be nice.

I think what he means is that the vote tally still goes up even if you don't verify. But they do send you a verification email.

4th most voted right now. Probably not going to beat cs, but lets get it higher than dota.

if we give them numbers are are wayyy off they are going to be less considerate next time they do something like this, i'd say vote truly.
currently rank 2, 100 votes behind dota, 200 above cs:go
was there really a saltysally already taken and you were so attached to the name you just had to add a 1 to get it?
if we somehow did sneak tf2 into mlg that would be hilarious not to mention bring a ton of money/sponsors tf2's way

I honestly want dota 2 > tf2 in mlg, but I'll vote like 10 times for tf2 since everyone here wants it :>
Its looking pretty good already

MLG is really NA-centric and NA has like 3-4 top tier dota teams. MLG dota would be shitty.
who am I kidding MLG is going to be shitty no matter what it picks up

MLG TF2 honestly would be a stomp fest the first 1-2 times. Very big skill differential right now between the very top, and the teams below them. It would be very inspiring to a whole new range of TF players however, and I think we'd see a lot of teams and old players trying to step it up. Within a few events, we'd have a lot more challengers to the throne.
While I doubt they'll take it seriously, it'd be great if they did reach out and contact us about the potential.
if mlg was gonna pick up tf2 they would have done it a couple years ago, but instead they picked up WoW pvp
people on natf2 were saying tf2 will never make it to mlg because we dont have enough players that are interested, but they have 3 counter strike games up for the vote and tf2 is currently beating the nearest game by 1000 votes. i also seen people talking about tf2's sponsors drying up and looking other places but if you notices tf2 received higher view counts then either of the more supported games in esea so i feel strongly that we'll get a bit more recognition in the coming seasons i just wish that valve supported tf2 a bit more as an esport :*(
How many teams could we actually get to an MLG event?

Much easier. The teams could coordinate their own fundraising through sponsors and streaming. eXtv would probably help of course, but not sure if we'd play favorites with any teams as far as promotion is concerned.
It would certainly be a smaller affair than Starcraft is currently, but who knows? I've posted on the MLG forum so hopefully they contact either me or someone at eXtv to chat about it. One thing I'm interested in knowing is some specifics in case they do - where can we find an ESEA config? How should servers be set up? What kind of rules for team formation and anti-cheating should be used? MLG might be interested in that level of detail, or not, I have no clue.

If we keep depending on extv funds for domestic LANs that's a sign that it's not going to work. Need reliable sponsors to send people instead of always out of our pockets, which is why MLG is a gamble (considering it's going to have to make orgs want to sponsor a TF2 team). If TF2 does make it, I hope the first showing of teams can increase TF2 viewership by a lot to get sponsors back like the earlier years of TF2. If it's crappy though (due to bad admining/servers, too many rolls, etc) people will probably stay away from the TF2 stream and it won't help the scene.
At the very least though, I'm sure the community will spam emails to get you to be the admin of the event. I just hope they'd give you enough control.

I don't want to administrate it. Someone with more time and experience on their hands should do that. I just want to shoutcast and market it.
I guess get Torbull to help? Eventually they'll need their own admin, but I don't know how their source admining is.
BTW even if eXtv helps send a few teams to some MLGs, eventually some E-Sports team will pick up a TF2 squad. It happened with league of legends after i think like 2 events when LoL started at MLG. I assume if TF2's got the viewers, teams will pick up a tf2 squad. Which would solve the travel costs assuming the teams pay for it.
