Following on from my old thread of fps problems was wondering if anyone had any ideas now? The crashing is fixed somehow but fps is still alot worse than it used to be and it just suddenly happened to my knowledge

i have the same processor and i can barely pull 240fps even on 1024x768. i recently had to reformat and now i cant overclock without my PC crashing every time i boot it up even in safe mode. so because of that im stuck on 3.4ghz and unstable fps

just had a quick test and for some reason using dx9 and turning down resolution to like 1280x720 (from 1920x1080) fps still remains roughly the same which is low.

cMwcan u test other games as well and is this happening on a recent/fresh pc build? and can u post ur exact specs

Well i'm not sure what to look out for when playing other games but it seems like I am getting lower performance compared to others with same specs.

It is on a semi fresh pc build.

running windows 8.1
gtx 770
i5-4670k
120hz monitor, lightboost

(not sure what else to add)

i5 - 2500k at 4.4
with a Gtx 560 ti
Win7

I can go from 1080p to 720p and notice maybe 20 fps (whilst changing settings like mat_filtertextures, etc)... I used to keep a stable 300+ with 720p and high quality but now it's struggling with chris' maxframes to keep above 240 stable. I can swap between 1920x1080 and 1280x720 and stay ~200-280 when it's 6v6. I don't understand it. I've tried switching between dxlevel 81 and dxlevel 98. No difference.

I can pull FPS fine in other games like CS:GO... it just seems like it's TF2. I've been playing with it for a day or two now.

it can't be some sort of one step tf2 config fix could it? Been talking with other people with worse hardware on higher settings and they are getting higher fps than me.
