#3 Gaming mouse and keyboard? in Off Topic
lol_goatSave more money and get better stuff. Get a mechanical keyboard, you'll never go back.

I think this one is mechanical, but im not sure.
I've already tried a mechanical keyboard, it is nice but i think they are too expensive. I've recently build a new pc so im kind of out of money.

#1 Gaming mouse and keyboard? in Off Topic

I'm tired of using an office mouse and keyboard for gaming.

I set my budget to 100$ and i'm thinking of buying this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooler-Master-SGB-3010-KKMF1-UK-Devastator-Keyboard/dp/B00CUBQH3G

This is a CM keyboard + mouse combo for 30$, which is a great deal.

If i buy this, i have 70$ leftover to buy headset etc etc.

What do you think? Any suggestions?

#12 Console server connectors in Customization
iridescentFUZZWhat would be cool is if you could do something like this from in-game chat.

I don't think that is possible.

Bucakei can never tell if stuff like this is trolling

*does he not know there is a server browser in tf2 itself?
*and it has a Favorites tab?
i can't imagine he's not aware of this information..
nonetheless, he actually took the effort to make a thread like this, including IP addresses and all

???

If you have console enabled, when you open TF2 it automatticaly opens and you can type example "jump1" in less than a second and connect to a server, instead of opening server browser and searching for it.
This thread was not a joke or a "troll" whatever that means to you.

#1 Console server connectors in Customization

The point of this thread:
type the name of the server in the console to connect to it.

I made this so i can connect to my favorite servers with ease.

You will need some basic knowledge about the "cfg" folder and what it is used for.

basic line:
alias "name" "connect IP"

example:
alias "panda_jump" "connect 193.192.59.191:27035"

Basically, when i type panda_jump into console, it will automatically connect me to Panda-Community jump server.

Let's start.

Make a basic script and name it whatever you want, i named mine serverconnector.cfg

now, in it, make your connectors.

These are mine:

alias "jump1" "connect 193.192.59.191:27035"
alias "jump2" "connect 94.23.68.246:27045"
alias "mge1" "connect 188.212.107.45:27015"
alias "mge2" "connect 94.23.69.228:27017"
alias "surf1" "connect 81.19.208.35:27015"
alias "surf2" "connect 81.19.208.35:27030"
alias "turbine" "connect 87.236.194.73:22030" //24x7 turbine
alias "payload1" "connect 146.66.157.233:27048" //valve
alias "payload2" "connect 185.25.181.70:27023" //valve
alias "koth1" "connect 146.66.159.70:27076" //valve
alias "koth2" "connect 185.25.181.232:27076" //valve
alias "skial_2fort" "connect 151.80.218.94:27015"
alias "skial_badwater" "connect 151.80.218.89:27015"
alias "skial_harvest" "connect 94.23.226.212:2055"
alias "skial_dustbowl" "connect 151.80.218.95:27015"

If you want to use mine, keep in mind, these are EU servers.

Now, just exec the script in your autoexec.cfg file.

Thats it. Have a nice day.

#15 Max FPS for Toaster users. in Customization
DanpixedI've already done this, if you've got anything new to bring to the TF2 community we would love to know.

I'm sorry, i'm new to teamfortress.tv so i didn't read most of the threads.

komorebiI was just looking through the benchmarks thread and I was wrong, yeah, the benchmarks there indicate a 8~11% increase, my fault. I would still like to see benchmarks for his justification of Comanglia's stability over Toaster. Also would like an explanation on net settings, his logic doesn't make sense to me. At the least I think he should provide different sensible settings for people to choose from or test.

Maybe, just maybe, if people have a REALLY bad computer, the potato/toaster config may help them.
I am not bashing on Comanglias potato config, but the Stability config has better graphics and is truly better.
This is just my opinion.

komorebido you have benchmarks in comparison to Comanglia's equivalent?

This is Comanglias config + additional fps scripts. It should run better.

Do you play on your parents toaster? No problem!
Do you get 20 FPS on average? No problem!
Do you want to enjoy playing TF2? No problem!

This is a guide to get THE BEST FPS your toaster can give.

Note: Your graphics will look absolutely horrible.

For people who care: I decided to go with Comanglias Stability config instead of toaster/potato config be cause i personally didnt get any extra fps from potato config, and i
seriously play on a toaster with a screen attached to it.

My PC:

RAM: 2x 2GB Sticks (only 3.25GB of that is usable)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 2.13 GHz
Random motherboard i found in my attic
Windows 7

As you can see my PC is a potato.
I am currently building a new gaming pc but 'till then i use this crap of a pc.

Let's start:

1.If you use Windows, set it to High Performance mode.

Control Panel > Power Options > High Performance.

2. Set the Windows theme to Max Performance.

Right Click on desktop > Personalize > Choose the "old-looking" theme.

3. Open your Steam libary > Right click on Team Fortress 2 > Set launch options... > Paste this in:
-dxlevel 80 -nod3d9ex -console -w 1280 -h 720 -full -novid

4. Copy this: http://pastebin.com/4WeNveLb

This is Comanglia Stability config + Blocky Textures + I removed network settings.
The reason i removed network settings is be cause if people have bad PCs they usually have bad network so i didnt wanna mess with anything.
I hope you understand my point.
To Comanglia: I hope you don't mind me modifying your config.

To install:

Go to where you installed Steam > steamapps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > cfg > save it here as autoexec.cfg, !!!*** PUT "ALL FILES" ***!!! otherwise it won't work.

5. Copy: http://pastebin.com/tWMVynL2

To install:

Go to where you installed Steam > steamapps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > custom > make a folder called: my_custom_stuff > in it make a folder: scripts > save it here as surfaceproperties.txt (**DONT** put all files)

6. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/mfmstj878u4383r/hrblsnohat.28.08.2015.vpk

To install:

Go to where you installed Steam > steamapps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > custom > and put the file here.

This removes hats btw. Yes, it boosts fps but if you truly love hats like me you don't have to do this.

7. Download: http://tf2.gamebanana.com/sprites/download/5309 !!!CLICK ***LOCAL COPY***!!!

To install:

Go to where you installed Steam > steamapps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > custom > and put the file here.

8. Download: https://mega.nz/#!EgJRTBJZ!2obYj4zGLS26sJKCiGJgz2KpAPLlbVXBEyty3FKLUsw !!!CLICK DOWNLOAD THROUGHT BROWSER BUTTON!!!

To install:

go to your my_custom_stuff folder > scripts > place the .txt files in here.

Well. Good job. You are now a true soldier.
Go start your TF2 and check how much more FPS you now have.

Thanks to Comanglia and all the script makers.

#9 FPS Config in Customization
ComangliaBonafideYes I understand that, but why would people use it if there are already configs that do the exact same thing?
His disables voice, features the Null-Movement script, and is definitely more concise than your typical fps config.

This also has a lot of new user friendly fps commands; a lot of map details are still enabled that actually somewhat helpful to newer players ex. This FPS config doesn't disable the spots on the map directly below where health/ammo spawn. ex2. Also doesn't disable 90% of the directional signs in the game

Matter of fact I might use this CFG as the base of the NewUser FPS config I've been wanting to work on.

Wow, i didn't think you would reply to this post. I'm glad you like it. I use your stability config as my fps booster :D
