#4 Battle Royale registration now open! in TF2 General Discussion
MashpitSquaredNot sure if this is too early to ask, but when do signups close? I'm interested in participating but my schedule on those dates isn't perfectly clear.

We're waiting to determine that based on how many people signup. Signups should be open at least until August 16th for Pro division. Possibly longer then that however.

Cardboard players should signup by August 29.

#1 Battle Royale registration now open! in TF2 General Discussion

Signups for the Battle Royale Professional Division and Cardboard Division are now open!

http://i.imgur.com/qTAT8Cd.jpg

To signup for professional simply visit evlbr.com, login through steam, visit the dashboard and create your team! An invite link is provided on the team page to the captain. Share this link with people you want on your team. Payment is not required to create a team, but is required to join the competition.

About the event
Two Divisions

Cardboard division costs a key to enter and is open to players Silver and below. You can solo queue as your preferred classes, and you will be matched with a team based on our ranking system, which takes data from logs.tf and other databases. We are still finalizing our trade bot details so for now cardboard signups are still closed. They should be opened within the next few days.

Professional division is for players who have their own team to compete with. There's no skill cap and no restrictions on team management. The fee to register as Professional starts at $2.50 for a player, or $17.00 for a pre-made team. Registration fees cover the tournament prize pool and other expenses. When purchasing a team pass, be sure that your team is committed, as the paid slots from a team pass are not transferable to other players.

Prizes!
Thanks to sponsorship with marketplace.tf we are able to include a SECOND and THIRD place prize for the professional division!

Professional Div Prizes
*All prizes listed are individual to each player on the winning team. Backup players who are paid are eligible for prizes even if they did not play. (max of 11 prizes per team)
1st Place: $20 steam cards + 10 Keys
2nd Place: 5 Keys!
3rd Place: 2 Keys!

Viewer Raffles
During our Professional Division live stream we will be giving away about 65 keys to our viewers! In between every match we'll post a private raffle on scrap.tf for 3 keys!

Cardboard Div Prizes
1st Place: 5 or more keys! (the more part dependent on how many players signup)
2nd Place: 1 or more keys!

Game Servers
We will have 10 game servers in Chicago, and roughly 60 in Dallas, TX. Both offer full DDoS mitigation. Thanks to evlgaming.com for the sweet hookup!

Having said our server locations, this is definitely a North America only tournament. We do not encourage anyone outside of North America to play.

Dates
The Professional bracket will play September 12 and 13, and the Cardboard bracket will play September 5 and 6. Both tournaments will start at 10 am PST (1 pm EST) on their respective days.

Still having second thoughts? Lay em to rest.
We have a new website, lovingly developed by the Battle Royale team and Cherry of [Saloon.tf](http://saloon.tf)
Your matches and servers during the tournament will be managed automatically by the website.
All of your stats will be grabbed and the scores will be reported automatically.

Hate to bump the post, but we have added Women's styled shirts as we had some requests on reddit.

Just one small problem:

What country are you trying to ship to Netherlands? We have to manually add them, and also need to check of our shirt printer will ship there. We currently have US, Ireland, UK, Mexico, Poland, and Canada,

Some of you are aware of the upcoming Battle Royale, a highlander tournament with some pretty cool prizes! Because we need to have 9 prizes (possibly 11 to cover backups) per team, and we need to support 60 TF2 servers our costs have gone up from our past events.

To alleviate this, we're planning on charging an entry free. This fee has created quite a stir on Reddit (what doesn't though these days?). To help lower the cost of entry (from $4 a player to closer to $2) and still have all the awesome prizes that you guys deserve, we want to try and raise some money by selling shirts!

Not only that, but these are some damn fine looking shirts. See for yourself:

https://evlgaming.tv/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/evl-br4-shirt.jpg

and of course Women's shirts

Huge thank you to Jesseh for designing these!

Since TFTV was so generous last time we sold some shirts, we're giving everyone 25% off their order, which puts the price of a shirt and US shipping at $16.49. Just use coupon code TFTV. Shirts will be sent out around Aug 22 so you should receive them before the end of the month.

Order your shirt from evlTV's website

I want to thank everyone for their support, we hope the Battle Royale will continue to be an awesome event, getting bigger and better as the years go on!

#10 Announcing Battle Royale 4: Highlander in TF2 General Discussion

We have received a lot of feedback on our reddit post stating that people would prefer a cheaper entry fee (for the professional division) with fewer prizes.

Current Fee/Prizes:
$3.79 per player ($37.99 per team) Each member of winning team gets $20 steam card + $35 amazon card

Proposed Fee/Prizes
$1.50 per player ($15 per team) Each member of winning team gets $20 steam card (no amazon card)

If you are interested in playing please voice your opinion here -> http://strawpoll.me/5028547/

saamI was more saying if you just pay cash you're assured that you won't pay out more than you bring in

That's true, and we may do it that way for future events, but for this event the gift cards work best. This is our first paid event, so we have to take things slow.

saamWhy use Gift Cards as prizes? I don't know anyone who would rather have two gift cards instead of the money in paypal. Also, the way you have it now if you get less than 14 teams you're in the red, but if you get more what do you do with the extra money?

Paying out money is tricky, and in some states is considered gambling, regardless of whether or not there is a dynamic prize pool, or a static pool.

The prizes are not our only expense. Datacenter colocation, website development, promotional stuff (SFM promo's aint free!), etc. If we have extra funds (which hasn't happened for the past 3 events), we'll use it to pay some of our graphic designers who signed up to go unpaid but have put in countless hours of work. After that, any spare money will be used to cover expenses for our next event.

I've already personally put up about $400 and don't expect to see it come back. This is no money making scheme, but its not a charity either and has to bring in some revenue to cover costs. My goal for Battle Royale is to make the organization financially independent.

tetrominowill there be badges?

Probably not. We did chat with a few medal designers, and they quoted us around $700 for a single participation medal (I know its a ton of work but this seemed high). Instead we decided to spend that money on prizes since our budget is very minuscule as it is.

I think its a good tradeoff :)

Are you ready to ruuuumble?
EVL is proud to bring you the 4th Battle Royale! For 2015 we have something special in store for the Team Fortress 2 community: a two day highlander tournament! Prestige! Prizes! Competition!

There will be two divisions to play in:
Cardboard division costs a key to enter and is open to players Silver and lower. You can solo queue as your preferred classes, and you will be matched with a team based on our ranking system, which takes data from logs.tf and other databases.

Professional division is for players who have their own team to compete with. There's no skill cap and no restrictions on team management. The fee to register as Professional starts at $37.99 for a team of 10 players (that's 9 players and 1 backup!) with additional roster slots available for $5 apiece. Registration fees cover the tournament prize pool and other expenses.

"Wait though," you say. "Didn't you mention PRIZES?"
We did indeed! The winning team of the Professional bracket will get a $20 Steam gift card and $35 Amazon gift card for each member of their team (up to the first 11 paid players.) Of course there may be more sweet loot in the mix, but that's a surprise!
The winning team of the Cardboard bracket will get a whole hunk of keys for each player on their team and potentially some other cool stuff as well.

The Professional bracket will play August 22 and 23, and the Cardboard bracket will play September 5 and 6. Both tournaments will start at 10 am PST (1 pm EST) on their respective days.

Still having second thoughts? Lay em to rest.
We have a new website, lovingly developed by the Battle Royale team and Cherry of Saloon.tf
Your matches and servers during the tournament will be managed automatically by the website.
All of your stats will be grabbed and the scores will be reported automatically.
And of course, all of our servers have full DDOS protection and are centrally located in Chicago and Dallas.

BUT WAIT IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER!
Not only can you play, but you can also wager your sweet sweet items on saloon.tf in hopes of making some serious dosh in the semi-finals and finals (you just can't bet on your own matchups). And of course you might just end up on camera; there will be coverage of the event, for both Professional and Cardboard, casted on evlTV!

Registration begins shortly at evlbr.com, and we hope to see you in this year's Battle Royale!

#5 tragic servers cfg in TF2 General Discussion

They probably have FTP so you could use something like FileZilla client to open your game server files, drag and drop your whitelist into the /tf/cfg folder. Tragic should be able to help you out.
