Strongest theming I've ever seen in a frag vid (though I haven't watched many), with the clean frag progression from mid to second to last. But it was kind of weird to have that random clip series on the koth map at the start, it would have made a lot more sense even to use frags from other 5cp maps if that was the direction that this was going. But incredibly sick overall, I actually liked the filter.

Add metalworks to the list of maps available? Alternately, perhaps an option to add your own images to be backgrounds?
DanceNumber- Added an alternate version of pass_warehouse: pass_warehouse_goal2
- Instead of scoring by throwing the jack into the goal, players need to carry the jack into the goal
BBALL/FOOTBALL TIME.
I kinda wanna try an organised passtime game.
Anyone have some spare time this weekend?
There's a pass time pug group already, I know. Some server issues though for some reason when you try to join up onto Warehouse.
Yeah, and that's the problem that I see the most here. You can only dump time into becoming competitive in one game. If you can see yourself at the top of an esport, then you want to start with the game as soon as you can. When a game launches, there's a ton of hype surrounding it, a ton of media attention, and a ton of $$$money$$$. The only way I can see tf2 competing against overwatch at this point (the question of whether it's competing or not was answered pretty well by GentlemanJon) is if, at the start of tf2 matchmaking, Valve decides to go in on a huge marketing campaign. If there's no marketing, there's no sponsor attention.
If a game community doesn't grow exponentially, it's not a good investment for anyone involved in the esport. TF2 has been growing linearly, meaning it's still a great game, but hasn't had the dev feedback. My advice to anyone trying to decide to go hardcore on Overwatch or stick with tf2: if valve puts out advertising on TF2 matchmaking (steam store front page or an actual ad campaign), it's worth staying with tf2. If valve doesn't make a big deal about it, it may be better to switch if you think you have what it takes to be at the top.
But remember. If you don't seriously think you could be a top gamer in Overwatch, just stick with TF2. It's proven fun, and the community is still growing, just not as explosively as any new game.
Why it started: I was playing my first lobby, felt uncomfortable, and aliased as "Don't Judge". Then I found out I wasn't totally awful at this game and removed the second half.
Why I kept it: From when my calling was shitty and I said what not to do more than I outlined the plan for what we were going to be trying to do.
clckwrkI also think it would be cool to have %'s of the amount capped a point is above each little capture point icon on your HUD.
Anybody know what that would look like aesthetically? I don't know how that could work well on any HUD, with how small the cap icons on most huds are anyway. Worried that it might just not look good.
Also, talking about capture points, does anyone know what the map situation for mm might look like? This is a pretty big issue that I haven't heard talked about much. Is every map going to be in the rotation, since there's looking to be no item whitelist in valve MM? Does this mean PL and CTF as well as 5cp and koth?
Why the hell does the dev team think putting time into mannpower is a good idea? At least pass time has an interesting map geometry that's accessible without having to deal with constantly using crazy gimmicks.
But, major kudos to the devs on this post. The transparency, the new balances, the performance improvements, good stuff. Pretty sad for confirmation of no new weapons confirmed, as well as matchmaking delay, but overall, I like it.
owlWe're gonna be naturally divided just because the UGC lifers are going to stick over there and won't look at tftv for recruitment.
I don't think there's anything wrong with giving them UGC as a second option to check out but I agree with air. People who are gonna give a shit in the long run are going to get into esea ASAP and those who aren't will be shuffled to ugc.
I think this response is a bit off, as I believe the OP was directly about lft posts for specifically non-ESEA units. If someone says they're looking for an UGC-region team, don't just say "eh, play open anyway". IMO anyway from what I understand of the situation.
asd333HOW TO PUT MONEY IN ORDER TO GET IT
I think this is the final goal of this project, for anyone who's curious. From reading this, I think they just want to create a self-sustaining community of gameservers. (self-sustaining = money-making necessarily, you have to pay on an ongoing basis for servers, and maybe they're thinking paid staff?).
To the OP: unless I don't know any better, the only way to get any return whatsoever from paying for a server is through either ads, donations, or some kind of membership payment. People hate obtrusive ads, donations are unreliable, and a membership... well, depends on whether people are liking what they get. The FTP model is hard, dude. That's why gaming companies have gigantic marketing departments to figure out how to get money off of their free games, and it might not be much different for you with your free-to-access servers.
LanturNFreshman at Cornell University (CALS). Everyone on my floor plays League, someone save me and play TF2 with me please.
Applying to there (college of engineering though), may be seeing you next fall :)
Do we want to sticky this? Seems like people are finding this useful.
That is a shitton of dough. Wow. This kind of stuff is what motivates me to get better at the game. Super hype for this fight.
How can you make this work? I'm dying trying to understand it. I know it's hud-specific, but I'm pretty sure I could dig though it if I I got some general guidance.
Mould gravelpit B which I feel was wasted by a bad gamemode.
I like the split-cp for highlander, actually.
But anyway, interesting.
You just made christmas come 3 months early.
GG.
