sending american teams to i46 brought virtually 0 exposure to this game so it'd be kinda silly to spend so much money on it a second time expecting different results

EggplantThe ball is in Europe's court, wouldn't you say?

NA doesnt have an equivalent to an i-series lan, at least not for TF2. Epsilon can't just show up to the ESEA lan or anything like that.

As a fan i loved it and i want to see it happen again but yeah, high cost for something that unfortunately didn't do much for growing the scene.

I'd donate to have an American team at i49 in any case. I got into watching 6v6's shortly before i46 and i loved the hype around it.

How expensive was it? Maybe if we get some sort of donation drive or something we could send them to i-series lan. Let's think about other ways to bring exposure to the game then? Or focus on expanding the ESEA lan?

If we start in the next month we will have 5 months to donate, as opposed to three months last time. We got 16k out of 20k last time so with an extra few months we will be able to afford sending two teams again. Sending an 'all star' team might even be better, it will be even cheaper and we have more time to donate. If we wait too long it won't happen but if we try to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later it certainly is achievable.

I wish we could make a TFTV lan in like Chicago every year and everyone that is able no matter their skill would go and play some tf2

I think it would be foolish to spend another 20k on this. I think we need dreamhack.

kbk-have we even paid back Sal from the last one? :o

He didn't get fully paid back but I think he stopped accepting donations. He knew he wasn't going to get paid back fully going in. I think he'd probably say to send your donations to seanbud's charity instead at this point.

Chicago itself? That's pricey just to get an area to do the lan. The hotel where Ultimate Fighting Game tournament is held should be fine, just up in Northbrook too.

The problem with this is we'd need to have an ESEA-Invite Euro division, I don't think anybody would go for a ETF2L invasion of the ESEA LAN.

Philadelphia would be WAAAAAY cheaper. Everything costs more in NYC. Hotels, Parking, Venue costs (the more it costs to rent the venue the more it costs you to get in), Flights to/from. Philly is only around 2 hours away, and everything is cheaper. Make it happen!
