During these tough times, keeping yourself safe is most important because it not only effects your health, but also the health of others. There is a very interesting video by Kurzgesagt on why self isolation and social distancing are extremely important right now. It is with this knowledge that we propose safe conduct in pugs and scrims to help prevent the spread of COVID 19.
Social Distancing
  • Medics should avoid healing players directly and instead heal from a distance using the Crusaders Crossbow. This means no ubers and no combos.
  • The roamer role is a guaranteed way to spread diseases such as COVID 19 due to their necessity to being close to the enemy team during bombs, so it has been abolished until further notice. This also extends to the pocket role due to medics no longer being in close contact with the team.
  • Scouts, relying on their close ranger scattergun, also consistently break the 6 foot distancing guidelines in order to do damage, so all scout roles have been similarly suspended.
  • If your role is not available at this time, don't worry! There is still one class that relies on social distancing: the sniper. Players of the soldier and scout classes are advised to play sniper instead due to his long range.
Prevention
  • Players should always wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds (about the length of singing "Happy Birthday" twice) after every kill.
  • While well known for being causing AIDS in the past, logs are a hot spot for COVID 19 to spread due to many players rushing to view them together. Players should avoid viewing the logs at the same time after a match, instead sending a representative from each team to screenshot it and share it with their teammates over Discord.
  • Avoid eating food, such as burritos, at RGL LAN events unless it is from a restaurant that has been screened by the official RGL LAN moderation team and determined to pass COVID 19 safety measures.
We hope these changes are not too much of a change for our players and suggest users to practice these guidelines outside of official matches as well, such as in pugs and team scrims. Stay safe and happy fragging!

how are they gonna enforce staying 6ft away during rollouts? im curious if they’ll make everyone stay in spawn for 2 weeks. its an interesting move by rgl to get rid of scout/soldier roles. hopefully this will help flatten the curve

Soldiers and demos load their weapons using their bare hands. Way too dangerous. These classes should be encouraged to use melee weapons with at least 6 feet range. Medic loads his crossbow manually too but he wears gloves so he good.
