While the name TOILET CLEANER MASTERS might ring new to some viewers, a quick glance at their roster should evoke familiarity, as it is still sensibly the same as KRITZBERG FOR DEFENCE, a team that exceeded expectations during Season 37 where they got 6th place with what looked to be a mismatched squad of Prem rookies and people who played at the top level 20 seasons ago. Having another year of experience under their belt, and being the latest Division 1 winners, TOILET CLEANER MASTERS are looking stronger than ever, and their Week 1 against teo, while a bit reminiscent of the old TCM, proved that they mean business.
Graba and the Player Formerly Known as “Wonszu” (now SOLAR) are forming the backbone of this team as its Medic and Pocket Soldier, respectively. Both known for an aggressive playstyle, their combined calls allow the rest of the team to capitalize on small advantages and mistakes, and they are not afraid to make things happen personally either, with Graba’s accurate bolts and SOLAR’s ability to offclass.
Bonkers and paparazi are also back, with both of them being an integral part of this team ever since its rebirth in the lower divisions around Season 34. Both of them have been playing the game for quite a while, but had slightly different trajectories, with Bonkers first reaching Premiership in Season 19 with coolclan, while paparazi’s presence in the higher divisions is mainly a more recent affair. They are playing Roamer and Pocket Scout, respectively, and are two very complete players who already shone brightly during S37, and will be looking to carry on and show these kids how it’s done.
The last member of the Season 37 squad to return, stan is a bit of a late joiner compared to some of the others, with their appearance on Demoman with KRITZBERG being their first. That did not stop them however from raining death and chaos as the Ullapool native. Finally, bb is the most recent joiner overall, featuring from Season 38 onward. By far the most recent player here, they had a very fast rise through the divisions, and any keen watcher of Highlander will recognize them after their performances on Feila eSports finanzieren durch DROPS.
We caught up with SOLAR to get their thoughts on the Poles' chances:
TEAMFORTRESS.TV: You've come into Prem as reigning Div 1 champions, does this put any pressure on you?
The only pressure we are feeling currently is from our community, since there is a lot of people cheering for us and wishing us good luck. With our results in previous season, we want to prove that we are not just another bottom prem team.
TEAMFORTRESS.TV: Your roster has stayed mostly consistent for a year now, across several seasons and the last Nations Cup, what's your secret?
We are just a bunch of guys who know each other since forever and just like to stick around. The only fresh face is bb, who is with us from one season and Nation’s Cup. With his recent performance both in 6v6 and hl, he is ready to show how much of a beast he is.
TEAMFORTRESS.TV: The last time you were in Prem was S37, where you won 11 points. After your week 1 win you're already more than halfway there - how much further can you go?
We are really glad we made it last week which really boosted our morale. We proved to ourselves that we fit into this division and we can fight for even more.
Clean and polished, TOILET CLEANER MASTERS are :
- Pocket Scout: paparazi
- Flank Scout: bb
- Roamer: Bonkers
- Pocket: SOLAR
- Demoman: stan
