Tery_Problem: If you make non-Invite divs run pick/ban, I'd wager teams would just ban all the newer maps and repeat the same three to four degen pug maps all season long. Oh wait, I don't have to wager because ESEA did that already and we saw how that turned out.

if non-invite teams only pick the same 4 maps, that probably indicates that they don't want to play any of the other ones imo

from the euro perspective where we've just always had unpopular maps thrust onto us in general, can you explain why it's a problem that players would play the maps they enjoy instead of maps they don't want to play? I feel like no matter what the concern is, teams still have the option of picking the maps if that bothers them. what happened that was so bad in esea?

I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again, badlands only sucks because you need to wipe the enemies to push out of last. And no I’m not saying bcus back caps. The mid forwards have such a ridiculously low spawn time, and the way pride>spire works you can virtually always fight for 2 if you failed a last push. even being like 3 down means you just hold trash and bats and wait <12 seconds for your players to BE THERE.

prolands was sick and if you’re gonna say badlands is stalematey, you could probably make the same argument for most 5cp maps. I will agree it is on the more stalematey side BUT some of my fondest memories from esea are on that map, even with being stuck on last for a round timer to run out sometimes (just fix the spawn times Lol)

also granary owns, pro granary was even better if they kinda revise last (how far u need to go to leave spawn vs last cap being in the middle, can only pick one)

What if they ran a 5cp rotation? Remove villa, add both granary and badlands and every season cycle a map out? Sure one season process wouldn't be in the rotation, but it would feel much more fresh when it came back in the following season? Or maybe lock snake and process and rotate the others? They're running a koth rotation where via comes out for clearcut next season, so it could work with 5cp?

jokes aside i actually did enjoy watching gpit, i think the biggest reasons had to do with how unique it was and how hype C would get sometimes, countless frag clips from that point and nothing then or now comes close to keeping u on the edge of ur seat like that, it made u feel things that will never be possible to imitate on 5cp. its a very shit map but i think gamemodes like a/d are very overlooked by mapmakers. U could probably just make ur own too tbh, like 5cp tc or a koth domination hybrid, as long as its not just going to devolve into a worse version of sunshine or process its worth experimenting with.

Id like to see granary back at the very least. Granary was one of the first 6 maps on xbox and i shall support its pro version as much as possible at this time. Thanks

I remember at some point ETF2L ran a 9 map season with some maps only being played one week. It was a bit more of a hassle regarding like maptalks but I did enjoy the variety and it made for some interesting pick/ban decisions

facts. the fact that a team can drop 3 players and still defend second easily is the stupidest shit on the planet and ruins what is generally a good map.

99% of koth haters are copers who would rather look at a choke than take an even team fight

this is also big overlap with the badlands lovers who enjoy looking at choke gameplay (very fun)

bagel is as good as viaduct if not better (way better for soldier copium i guess who dont know a clue about how to play viaduct) and definitely better than clearcut

i would prefer granary over villa and i feel like this is a sentiment held by a lot of ppl... villa has been forced into the league for like 3 seasons now and it still isnt popular, every change just swaps the map around and fixes some areas and fucks up others, its just cuz the whole map is a bunch of awkward angles and lengths, so pushing or jumping is weird and defending is equally awkward imo. even if my reasoning is wrong u still cant deny that villa is less popular than granary for the most part
