#44 They Are Living Among Us in The Dumpster

Not yet. I gave enigma access to my VPS, I'm sure he's still messing with things because we both have no idea how to do half of this stuff. I'll/he'll be posting in this thread once it's up.

EDIT: Probably one more day. :)

#9 Mumble Casts in TF2 General Discussion

I think it's possible to setup Mumble such that people could listen in but be muted, but Mumble is pretty archaic so I'm not surprised if he hasn't gotten around to it. He's also more focused on the site, at the moment. There's only so much enigma to be able to do stuff.

I'm not here to dictate your choice of where to watch the game, but stream viewership is very important; it's the only number that gets pushed to sponsors. After being professional, of course. Which, at the moment, is probably a bad idea for TF2, if only because of that one time.

#41 They Are Living Among Us in The Dumpster

There is certainly a lot of different categories for information; I'd say just start with the players, straight up. They're the ones people are going to look up. Every little piece of information about their play and history with the game, organized nicely; this is what's ideal. I definitely suggest looking at Liquipedia for reference, as that's the model we're using, more or less. Also information about the leagues that are involved.

Literally this moment, we're setting up the wiki. Please hold. :)

#34 They Are Living Among Us in The Dumpster

Oh man, I totally missed this; enigma has plans for something like this. We just need to figure out the exact technical details. I can advise to write the content, but be prepared to migrate, if it does come up.

It's also quite a bit of work, I expect us to be nominating mods/admins for managing such a database, soon. SO MANY PROJECTS.

EDIT: Let me discuss with enigma to see how we can manage the project and figure out how to start it. Or he can just come in and do it all himself.

#3 For the music heads here that also have iPads in Off Topic
TurinThis is something I've been waiting for ever since Ruddess made morphwhiz. It was a matter of time before the minimoog was recreated. The minimoog is certainly one of the best synthesizers, even to this day.

Oh yes. As I said before, I had the great honor of seeing the original Minimoog at NAMM. That was pretty insane. It was literally the legend that I was making the iPad version around, but this time right in front of me.

What's even better is that a sound designer at Arturia literally double-blind tested the VST version and the iPad version on his home theater system and could not tell the difference. Pride level: RIDICULOUS.

#1 For the music heads here that also have iPads in Off Topic

Hi folks, my work just released the Arturia iMini and Tabletop 2.1 for iPad. The iMini is a recreation of the 1971 Minimoog. It's a great synthesizer (obviously I'm biased, but I'm not alone! TOP 5 BABY!). I also had the honor of seeing the 1971 physical at NAMM; the one that created, I think, the Energizer jingle (the famous battery one). We also released the AKAI iMPC which has been and is still doing really well.

We also released an update to our own product: Tabletop. It's a free to use DAW with some effects and devices free but also a bunch more you can buy. This time around we added 3 new really crazy devices (at least for our standards). I personally worked on the Boom Room.

All of these things are on the iPad, currently.

HERE ARE SOME LINKS.

#22 What most schools don't teach in Off Topic

Programming is pretty fantastic, and it's quite far away (at least most of the time) from the stereotypes. I actually dropped out (returning next semester to finish) but working as a full time programmer has been so much better than school it's a little ridiculous. Now I make stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAMWH4gci_g and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niqoU_PD_5U (the Arturia iMini and Tabletop 2.0 respectively). That's MY interface that **I** built and it's sitting in a funny (to me) but also pretty sweet ad. With Moog's name!

To anyone just starting; without knowing your specific needs/desires, Python is a great place to start; the syntax (i.e. the way you talk to the computer) is very simple and concise. Every word you type into it is a concise, simple block of computer talk. Ruby and Java are quite good as well (my school covered all three, and more). I don't think I would advocate going into web development immediately; it's a bit of a messy world that requires some knowledge of all parts of how the Internet works, but it's completely possible to jump right into it (look up Django or Ruby on Rails or PHP).

For somewhere like Valve, if you want to work on a game, you'll need pretty extensive knowledge in C++, and probably some scripting, without knowing any serious details (I've looked into it before).

Beware, when it comes to free stuff from the company (food, lounges, etc.), sometimes it's more of a trap than charity. While Google, Facebook, etc. are interesting places to work at, they come with their own downsides compared to elsewhere smaller (Valve is somewhere in the middle and on another dimension).

MR_SLINi'm thinking of going too....john/mana do you need a 3rd roomie?

We haven't even talked since the ramen incident, but I think so, if there isn't a 3rd already there will definitely be room in the hotel.

TwitchTVJohnWho wants to share a hotel room? I'll pay for it, but I'm deciding on 2 double beds or a King.

I most certainly will join in.

#17 Charity - Signed Weapons in TF2 General Discussion

seanbud, do you plan on directly using a payment system, i.e. directly using PayPal or are you going to use a third party in some form (i.e. BMT Micro, ChipIn, etc.)? If it's going to be primarily through the stream, maybe you and Twitch John can work something out...handling payments yourself is a pretty big PITA and I'm sure someone reputable in this community could do it for you.

#13 Charity - Signed Weapons in TF2 General Discussion

An enigma-signed Minigun. I've dreamed of tagging it with the details of the S12 LAN play. That, and of course a signed scattergun from him, as well (was going to suggest flamethrower, too, but that's already there).

Spy stuff signed by truktruk (which was missing!).

RL by Tagg.

As a joke, a shotgun signed by harbleu, with details of the infamous i46 jump. :)

EDIT: definitely have more in my head somewhere, I suppose it'll be edited in

- Sniper rifle by TviQ
- 'Nade launcher and/or sticky launcher by Brego, randa (former Epsilon demo), numlocked
- Scattergun by Schocky, smzi, TviQ, basH, wltrs
- Ubersaw by Admirable
- RLs from Epsilon GeaR, KnOxXx (from his soldier days), Mike and Mitsy

EDIT: Had some tea. Round 2.
- Knife signed by DLMan
- former -ts- (Ruwin, Polk, hein, stabby, Dave+, Jake, TMP, vhalin, soup) on their respective class weapons
- RL by bl4nk
- harbleu for medic items
- stultus needles + description of S12 LAN Viaduct needle play
- Direct Hit and RL by blaze
- Original by Seagull

Regarding a tutorial section; we're working on it. It may come by sooner than later. It'll be pretty obvious when I start enlisting help from the community.
