#219 ESEA Quick Fix Ruling in TF2 General Discussion
crespiindigo
your LAN watching experience was def the same as everyone elses

no way people can have different opinions

Be facetious all you want but the numbers don't lie. Viewership was considerably lower than Season 13 Lan.

No it wasn't. Our peak reached 4800.

milehighmilitiaconsidering how i am no longer an invite captain and therefore dont have the privilege to vote in such a vote i'm not exactly sure what you think I am arguing for. That I should have had a say in the decision? no... i just dont understand the precedent for making this decision this way.

are you really that concerned about the process for the ruling? Marxist explains it pretty well.

what do you mean? Only a small percentage of players want the quickfix allowed and it seems like most invite players that seriously played with it want it banned.

i dont get what the problem is. its seems like basically everyone is in agreement with the ban.

milehighmilitiaall i was trying to say was that there was no reason to stray away from the already established method of the invite captains voting on the weapon bans. Killing did not need to do this ban ahead of schedule without a proper vote, if he truly talked to invite captains at LAN then their opinions would still have been equally valid when the weapon ban vote came around.

The point of having Invite captains vote on weapon bans is because they're better than everyone else and have a much better understanding of the effects certain weapons will have on the game.

I think the players that were at LAN are similarly better than you and have a much better understanding of its effects on the game after playing with it for 3-4 weeks.

turtsmcgurtsi don't get why you really need dozens of people to publicly defend it on the forums.

You're kidding right? ESEA admins check forums, 95% of their league wants an item banned, with hardly anyone speaking in favor of the weapon. Admins also speak to players at the LAN and get their opinion. Based off what Killing and Boomer have said, it sounds like players at the LAN are in agreement with his decision.

You still don't see why you should have been more outspoken??

turtsmcgurtsnobody saw this ban coming, especially so far away from the next season. I was waiting on the invite teams to play with the QF more and learn the viable strategies and counters instead of listening to the bandwagon of, honestly, people I have never heard of.

If you didn't see the ban coming you either weren't watching or just have no awareness of the situation.

pine_beetleThere were threads where people argued to not ban it. Just not 5 seconds after the lan.

link?

pine_beetleLimbomilehighmilitiahopefully killing will realize he rushed this decision and allow the invite captains to vote on the QF ban like they vote on every other ban in the game.
Because giving the choice to a division of the league that loves the quick fix when the rest of the league seems to not want it is totally a good idea. Make it a league wide poll like map votes imo.

Ya the 3000+ people watching a biased cast had nothing to do with this at all.

They don't have minds of their own to make judgements? don't put the blame on the casters. People should be able to make their own decisions.

There were like 20 thread on this forum on why the quick fix should be banned. I didn't see any of the people complaining about the ban speaking up earlier. You had to have seen something like this coming. Why would you not speak up to defend the quick fix before it would get banned?

Also killing was at the LAN. I'm assuming he heard what the players at the event thought of the quick fix? Did they not have any influence?

#41 ESEA S15 NA Open Happenings/Predictions in TF2 General Discussion

What? are you telling me that players in Invite can only play offclasses at an open level??? Thats aside from their better gamesense and communication.

Also with the introduction of Main, the skill level of Open will go down as the better teams should be playing IM or Main. That makes the skill difference of between invite player open teams and regular open teams even larger.

Did any team of invite players dominate IM previously to the extent that Mad Men did in s13?

Because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't.

I might be wrong but i thought that one of the reasons Main exists in CS is so that recycled Invite players could start in IM/Main instead of Open? Or is that just wrong?

Its funny, a couple of invite teams stack open and people are okay with it.

An invite team sandbags in IM(Mad Men) and everyone has a problem with it.

I dont get it, if you dont like what the chat is talking about, why do you read it? theres other options like:

full screen
pop out the chat and hide it.
watch the stv.
you can also ignore people on twitch.

If it bothers you so much that people are just spamming mindlessly, why watch it? Just do what you enjoy.

randomirishladyou could just use irc until twitch chat fixes itself.

This is also a pretty good idea.

Truktruk and Lange made a tutorial if you need help.
