Pretty sick to hear something from the SA scene, the only team I ever heard about was MONSTER, and that was because powah was on the team.

Yeah I randomly found him while on a nostalgia trip on twitch, the hundo runs are just insane. I know there's longer runs out there, but 17 hours of San Andreas is nuts.
The g403 (wired) is honestly my favourite mouse I've used, better than my old g400s and original fk.
All Logitech products are on sale for the next 4 hours on the UK Amazon, not sure about US

Should all be doable with your budget, don't worry.
If you want windows then generally you need to acquire windows somehow.
id love to overclock and get the maximum out of the build. however, i dont have any experience with overclocking
edit: is it expensive to pay for the building service? i think id be overwhelmed and fuck something up building up the pc in person
Honestly it's really quite simple to build a PC, loads of it is pretty obvious with how each part matches to the mobo/PSU. Plus there's a billion tutorials on youtube for building.

I set threads to -2 ages ago when someone was asking about testing out different values for it on here, I tried out 1 2 3 and 4. 2 gave me the same fps as using -4, so I figured why change it.
Tried the new benchmark demo, with launch options:
-novid -threads 2 -console -nojoy -nouserclip -noff -softparticlesdefaultoffAnd config + comp.cfg
I got 199 fps with host_thread_mode 0 and 201 with host_thread_mode 1.
I turned antialiasing up to mat_antialias 4 and got 211 fps.
This is with a 2500k @4.5ghz and a stock clocked 8GB RX480.

I'd say it's best to hold off for a year or so to decide if you really want to pursue the subject, I've got friends that didn't wait and now regret their choices for degrees, if they had waited they might have chosen something they preferred or at least more practical. Maybe apply and then defer your place for a year?
Do you use the low LOD thing in nvidia/radeon pro? This was a problem I got ages ago when I used it, I just set it to only work on tf2 and that stopped it happening.
