MalloryOn the one hand I totally get that people not showing up on time because they need to finish a jump map/beat this nerd in MGE/poop is a pandemic in this community and it’s absolutely infuriating because it’s seriously not that hard to be on time.
On the other hand you’re all paying to play a game that has a net negative financial outcome for the vast majority of players, which means literally the only thing you’re paying for is playtime, so... it makes zero fucking sense to not play what you’re paying for. In addition it’s a well-known fact that the client for ESEA is hot shit that can smite anyone at any time so this is just a case of treat others how you want them to treat you when you’re stressed out and have no control over a glitchy software that’s making you late. At the very least attempt to communicate and set boundaries AHEAD of time, i.e. hit up your opponent a few days in advance and tell them, yo, please try to ensure everyone is in at 10:30 prompt because we really need to start on time, so that there’s zero surprises when you show up and aren’t terribly accomodating to delays (which I’ve done. And we got in the server at 10:20 and started at 10:33). Or vice versa, tell your opponent at the 20-minute mark that hey, we think this is going to be a long-term delay, would you like to take the FFW now, or reschedule to another day? Like this can literally all be avoided by just talking and trying to empathize with the other team.
We played tho, it wasn't a ffw lol
Also I'm pretty sure we did contact them prior to make sure we played at a given time by scheduling the match

Have some fucking dignity you child. You paid for this shit, play out matches.
First of all we did play, second of all people have things to do in the morning. 4 of us have morning classes, 2 of us have jobs. There is absolutely no reason for blaming our team if you were unable to get your players in on time. Not only that, but your medic was over 30 minutes late and even got a pause as soon as the game started. We paid to be able to play matches, but we're not staying up until 12am to finish a match because the other team was late
If your teammates care so much about their early-morning lives then why are they up late on a weeknight playing TF2 regardless? If a match went on long or your own team had issues they would also be up later than predicted. Just play the damn game the way it was meant to be played.
because 10:30 does not equal playing until 12am
