#6 Anyone wan to play 15 Heroes of the Storm game? in Other Games

Trying to finish this on my smurf, hit me up on SMOrc#11443. I have Sylvanas on that account so we can finish beginner AI games in ~3 minutes apiece. Also up for playing real games on any of my accounts if you want.

#1 Aui_2000 on the importance of demos in esports in Esports

http://npgame.gg/blog/the-importance-of-replays-and-sandbox-mode

Really cool, really long article about how various teams and regions used demo watching and replays to accomplish things they wouldn't ever have been able to do on a pure skill basis. I know I probably have more hours watching TF2 demos than I have in actual gameplay so this resonates with me a lot.

#5 Valve issues cease and desist to betting sites in CSGO General Discussion

I think it's interesting to note that Fanobet, a skins-betting website similar to CSGOLounge, was not listed on there. I've heard that theory that Valve is basically only shutting down US based/focused sites due to their lawsuit, and Fanobet requires ID for registration and doesn't allow any Americans to register.

puddingkiptrippanot any specific post but the inability of redditors to use a fucking server browser pisses me off

did people with more than 100 hours ingame actually use quickplay?
Yeah, it is great to join valve pubs. And sometimes, that's what I want to do. Want to play cp_gravelpit on a decently full server? quickplay gives me 10 options

I've used quickplay maybe a dozen times and have never once been given a server on the same continent as me. I play on the East Coast of NA and have only ever received Luxembourg, Stockholm, and Dubai.

#19 Watch Dogs 2 in Off Topic
InhakeBlack protagonist in a flagship Ubisoft title. Even Malaria Simulator's protagonist was white. Also, he's not Aidan Pierce.

If you're talking about FC2, that's not true. There isn't any set protagonist in FC2, you choose between a list of them. Some are white, some are black. The ones you don't choose become your "buddies" in the story.

Never played the first but this instantly looks a lot more appealing to me. I love the brighter colors and I'll buy pretty much any game set around the Bay Area.

#4 medic in Q/A Help
loltfi hate to be the person to create another thread for this. i've looked for a thread for this, found nothing useful.

what are ways to practice medic in a competitive scene, whether that be game sense, surfing, or strafing. i try pugs, never get picked. any help, or things that could help me practice and improve with?

thanks in advance

Play scrims, then watch your demos, then compare them against higher level medics' demos, then rinse and repeat.

#48 FROYO BLACK uncorked in News

I remember literally 10+ seasons ago thinking that bl4nk could put together a top 2 team in Invite if the stars aligned. Really hope this turns out to be the case because regardless of performance, bl4nk's teams have always been fun to watch (although it's gonna be hard to call this roster a "bl4nk team").

#15 Hilary Clinton in The Dumpster
omnificI don't understand how anyone would ever vote for Hillary. Her record is atrocious, and she is the most two faced politician I ever seen. There's so much to say about her that I don't even know where to start. I'm not advocating trump because i know exactly where that'll get me, but please don't go out and vote for hillary in the primary

I'm not voting for her, and I should know better than being pulled into talking about politics on the internet, but here it goes. An "atrocious record" depends more on your own political views than the record itself. In 2008 HRC ran to the left of Barrack Obama on both policy and record, but her message was ignored in favour of Obama's cross-cutting narrative. If you compare her record in the Senate to her Democrat peers, she was ranked as "more liberal" than 85% of Democrats. Despite this, right now she's being derided as a corrupt centrist politician mainly because of who she's running against, not her actual record. If you're sitting to the left of her (as many Internet users are), then sure, that critique makes sense. But at that point you're sitting to the left of the vast, vast majority of American politicians and you can't reasonably expect a politician to support your viewpoints at the expense of large swathes of the American electorate.

As for the "two-faced," I'm actually a huge fan of what most people regard as hypocrisy or "two-faced-ness" in politics. I've long been of the belief that America's problems are complex and nuanced, and simply trying to force the same policies in every situation and ignoring the nuance, reeks of political expediency to me over practical governance. I work in the solar energy field currently, and while this field is filled with the types who traditionally would support Bernie, as a whole the industry is more in favour of HRC due to the fact that she explains her policies in greater detail. My boss recently published an op-ed on this point, essentially boiling it down to the fact that Bernie might seem to have greater support for solar energy, but he hasn't necessarily gone into depth on how he thinks residential solar ITC should scale over time. With Clinton, the industry might not agree with all of her viewpoints, but she has explained them in detail and we can reliably predict how her administration would respond on the more bureaucratic decisions that make up the meat and potatoes of energy policy. We believe that she came to her stances through the careful study of the industry and what the American population wants, rather than just the general "clean energy is the future!" circlejerk. This gets her panned by a lot of people for refusing to give a simple answer, but as someone who is a little scared of simple answers, I can appreciate it even if I personally disagree with the specifics of her decisions anyways.

I fully realize that this is going to boil down to calling people shills, Bernie bros, fascists, racists, and the like, but I don't particularly like when people out of hand dismiss the politics of any candidate and their supporters through name-calling, be that politician be Trump, Clinton, Sanders, Cruz, or whoever else you may think of. I wish people put more thought into why their political opponents have different beliefs rather than just dismissing them out of hand.

#24 Petition to Classify eSports as "Legitimate" Sport in Esports
VanguardDLKSidenote: with it being a White House petition it is cool for me to put my name to this as a non-US citizen right? I've never been entirely sure of how that works, I did try to figure it out from the website but it wasn't very clear on it.

There's nothing legally binding about the website, it's just kinda a change.org thing hosted by the White House. It's probably not designed to be signed by foreigners but I don't think anyone cares because it doesn't have any lasting impact. Has nothing to do with laws or anything of the sort.

#30 Knife Enthusiasts? in Off Topic

I don't have a "collection" but I do have a gorgeous bowie knife commemorating the Texian Revolution given to me by my grandpa, a butterfly knife, an engraved Swiss Army knife honouring some moments of my life, and a shitton of other pocketknives I picked up in the Boy Scouts or needed around the house. I don't carry any around on a daily basis but Swiss Army knives are really fucking useful.

Based on how similar it is to the US in the 1950s or 1980s. Duh.

#6 Team Liquid sponsors dummy, mesr, dahang, azk in Other Games
What he did in CS:GO is one of the worst offenses a professional gamer can ever commit. The punishment for this needs to be taken very seriously… After speaking at length about the situation with AZK as well as dummy we are ready to move forward with this team.

Makes it sound like dummy was part of the throw. Is there something we don't know?
