#13 Granada Gaming 2016 [EUROPEAN LAN] in LAN Discussion
Sideshowbfaalizeegood news people!!! Granada Gaming told me they are providing the PC's during the tournament (and they didnt tell me any price, so I assume these are included with your ticket)
You need a bit more information than this. Specifications of the PC, max number of PCs available, confirmation that there's no extra price, whether a monitor is included, etc. Sounds promising though.

Eveything is included, monitor, keyboard etc... the only downside that I just got informed of is that pc's are exclusively for official matches of the tournament, or at least was so last year, which might rip the dream for you guys :(

EDIT: Just sent another e-mail to see if it's possible to get pc's for the WHOLE event...

SideshowI'd be interested if PCs are there, pretty difficult without that.

Intel and HP are sponsors from this lan. If we can get enough interest, I promise to fight for rentals.

If you guys are interested to come if there are PC rentals, post it as well. We need to grab their attention!

#1 Granada Gaming 2016 [EUROPEAN LAN] in LAN Discussion

Hello gamers

http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01605/grenada_1605744c.jpg

A couple of days ago, I thought about hosting a TF2 Tournament in my home town, Granada (Spain) because there is a small LAN here called Granada Gaming.

Spanish TF2 competitive community is not really that big in order to host a tournament with national teams, so I thought I could propose the organization to run an Open Challenge Tournament 1v1/2v2 where anyone could try and play, kinda similar to the one that took place at Dreamhack a couple of years ago.

Talking to my friend kane about this idea, he suggested me to post something here, and try to raise some interest for a 6vs6 tournament, check who would be willing to come and send another e-mail to the organizers with this link.

I know this is pretty early, but the sooner the better. They also say in their website that if we want to organize some tournaments, we have to planify them in advance (I assume 3-4 months) so we would still have time.

When?: Granada Gaming 2016 has not been announced yet, but it always takes places in the second/third weekend of December (9-10-11th or 16-17-18th)
Where? Granada, Spain. Located in the south, it is a city where you can find everything you need. The university is one of the largest in Spain and is the #1 destiny for Erasmus Students, so expect a lot of students and parties everyday. The city is not that huge and you can reach every corner by foot. We have The Alhambra (see the picture) and Sierra Nevada, it is winter so you could do some snowboarding or skiing. Spain is well known for its gastronomy, and here we have '' tapas '': you pay your drink (2€), and you get some free food with it.

Tickets: Around 20€ per player for the whole weekend.
Rentals?: PC's are provided by the organizers during the tournament with no extra cost, but only for official matches, if we get enough interest, we can try to ask for rentals for the whole event.
Accomodation?: Granada is one of the cheapest cities in Spain and it is possible to find a place (around 10€ per night)
Travel?: Cheapest way is to flight to Madrid or Malaga. You could then travel by bus (Madrid-Granada 5-6h approx and Malaga-Granada 2h) or blablacar (if you are confident enough). If you wish, you can come by plane but you would need to make a stop in Madrid probably.

I can't really assure a prizepool that will cover your lan/travel expenses if you play for the money, if you would like to play a not that serious tournament and meet some friends, show up if you want!. Potentially we could set up a fundraiser.

VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE, If you would consider coming, post it here or fill in the google doc so I can send the link to the organizers and they can see there's enough interest for our beloved game and therefore, can give me green light in order to organize the tournament

If you have any questions, ask away.

#17 ETF2L announces Season 24 in News

hey guys, i have an idea!

let's remove all the maps that need to be played differently like granary or snakewater and lets replace them with other maps featuring a spire or similar as the second point and that need to be played simlarly, otherwise the game would turn out to be boring and cba to adapt my playstyle to different maps.

Thanks Mr. ETF2L

if chess is recognized as a sport, why not competitive gaming?
