Scattergun damage sometimes not grouping together

Sometimes when I hit someone as scout the damage above them is a bunch of separate numbers instead of showing as their total. This makes it hard to tell how much damage I've done as the numbers overlap and can make it look like I've done more than i actually have. I don't use the thing that accumulates damage over several shots and it happens when I hit one person.

"hud_combattext_batching 1; hud_combattext_batching_window .2"

See if that works for you.

hud_combattext_batching_window is what you're looking for as posted above; increasing the number increases the amount of time you can take between shots for it to accumulate. Just join a map with bots and increase this value until you get a window you're happy with.

I mean when i hit people it sometimes shows the damage each pellet does individually. So if I hit them 4-5 numbers appear above their head from one shot. It normally happens if i hit two people with one shot but i feel it sometimes happens when I only hit one person.

This literally happens once in probably around 500 hours of playing, you can live with it

Unless it has something to do with ping, I see no reason of it occuring more often than that

i see it probably once a game, but if you are paying enough attention youll notice your hitsound wont sound as if you did 95 damage, rather that you did 9+5 damage. I think its something you have to live with

I see it once or twice a game, 2 or 3 times in a 10 minute round of dm. I'm pretty sure that combat text batching fixes it even if you set it to a fairly small interval.
