So I got these speakers a few years ago:
https://amzn.to/2xfJhiW

Then, the control pod broke.

The company doesn't sell control pods separate from the speakers from what I could find, but I don't want to buy new speakers entirely. Will other control pods (that have compatible inputs obviously) work with these, or do control pods only work with the speakers they're designed for?

Jesus christ how horrifying.
Don't put any money into repairing that trash.
Get yourself some JBL LSR305s or something else decent.

Why would you buy "gaming speakers" that sound like trash and look like trash when you can get something like https://www.amazon.com/Edifier-R1280DB-Bluetooth-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B06XGG6MFV/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1537033772&sr=8-4&keywords=edifier%2Bspeakers&th=1 for around the same amount of money? Those happy meal toy plastic marketed at 12 year old gamer branding speakers are not worth fixing.

i dont have 500 dollars sitting around doing nothing. i have 50 to replace the part thats broken, and I don't think that its possible to replace speakers for 50 dollars.

Nobody in this thread is helpful.

I can't really help you; I'm not a hardware or electronics guy, but by my logic, these outputs are universal. If preamp and amp are inside the box, you're gonna need to replace it with preamp/amp combo where the amp can output the current the speakers need. I think your best bet would be to go to an audio store and just ask someone there who knows his stuff.

JBL LSR305s are not anywhere near $500. In fact they can be had for only $40 more than those abominations you purchased. There are a lot of options around that price bracket. If you only have $50 deal with it and save some more money to get something that is actually worth buying. I'm certain you have some earbuds or something sitting around you can use in the meantime.

i bought those speakers for around 60 dollars. I no longer can find speakers around that price bracket that can replace these; I dont care about having the highest quality speakers available; i just want to a) be able to play my music with a subwoofer, and b) be able to change my audio output from headset to speakers. These speakers accomplish that purpose.

ScrewballPeteyou're a condescending piece of shit btwIf telling someone there chink shit isn't worth the cost of repairing and then giving them good purchase advice is condescending so be it.

Either take the advice or put your money in a paper shredder again. I don't care.

You manage to be a condescending piece of shit and a racist in this post. Congrats.

In what way is anything i said racist? I would bet my left nut that those speakers where made in China. They are sort of the go to place for these kinds of things. Not saying you can't get good shit from China. But it is where the vast majority of these scam products come from due to manufacturing cost combined with the relative sophistication required do not really exist anywhere else.

Typically the term "chink" is thought of as a racial slur and racial slurs tend to be frowned upon.
