Tabbing out with dual monitor

I recently bought a second monitor and I would like to use it for viewing twitch chat and other things. Problem is that whenever I play TF2 it tabs me out of the game whenever I flick too hard and press my left mouse at the same time. I tried using Dual Monitor Tools to lock my cursor on one monitor, but despite that it still happens from time to time and I don't know why. I also tried aligning the second monitor to the top right corner (like this) but that didn't really seem to decrease the likelihood of it happening either. I don't seem to have the issue in other games, haven't tried other Source games as I don't have any others installed.

It's driving me up the wall when I'm fighting someone and my game tabs out and I don't know what else I can try, so I'm looking for advice from people with a dual/multi monitor setup, thanks in advance :D

Other things that might be relevant:
- I'm running TF2 in fullscreen
- Monitors: LG 27GK750F + BenQ XL2411Z
- One of the monitors is in portrait mode

There is a Tool called Dual Monitor Tools that lets you set a bind that toggles your cursor from going between screens. So when you're playing a game toggling it on should prevent the issue. Just have to remember to toggle it off when trying to use your 2nd monitor.

As stated in the OP I'm already using this program to lock my cursor to the screen I'm playing TF2 on. It definitely does something since I can't see the cursor jump over to the other screen anymore and it makes the issue less frequent, but what I'm saying is that despite my cursor being locked it still happens sometimes. I've had plenty of times where I tabbed out of my game and I double checked whether or not I could move my cursor over to the other screen and I wasn't able to.

I had the same problem but I 'fixed' this by running TF2 windowed borderless.

TimTumI had the same problem but I 'fixed' this by running TF2 windowed borderless.

Haven't had the issue after running TF2 in windowed mode for a couple of hours, but I'd still prefer a solution where I can keep running TF2 in fullscreen as my fps tends to fluctuate a lot more in windowed.

lower your dpi a ton and change your sensitivity so your inches is still the same and it shouldn't happen

technically speaking m_rawinput 1 should prevent this from happening.

otherwise here is a site that calculates a bunch of things including how fast you can move you mouse before it desyncs from your game window.

https://funender.com/quake/mouse/

Things that affect the issue you're having

DPI : Lower = Less likely
Resolution: Higher = Less Likely
Frame Rate: Higher = Less Likely

some examples
400DPI 3 Sens 1920x1080 160fps
9.75m/s before you start to have that desync issue (you'll actually have to move a bit faster to desync hard enough to switch focus away from the game)

800DPI 1.5 Sens 1920x1080 160fps
4.87m/s

800DPI 1.5 Sens 1920x1080 80fps
2.43m/s

800DPI 1.5 Sens 800x600 80fps
1.01m/s

1600DPI 0.75 Sens 800x600 80fps
0.51m/s

I just double checked and I do have raw input enabled.

Going to try out doubling my in-game sensitivity and lowering my DPI to 400, will report back later, thanks.

EDIT: it's taking me a while to adjust to the lower DPI while on desktop/browsing etc but I haven't ran into the issue at all anymore even without locking my cursor. Thanks for the help!
