Alt+Tab lag after recent windows 10 update

After a recent windows update, myself and many others I've spoken to (cough ghostac cough) have been a super long delay between alt+tabbing. I was fairly certain someone posted a solution to this before but I just could not find it.

On the bright side though after a little googling I found a solution and I just wanna drop it to everyone who may be having this issue like I did.

Just open up your windows settings app and from there go to System > Focus Assist. On the lower half of it there should be a section called "Automatic Rules" and from there just switch "when I'm playing games" to off (i just turned everything off).

additionally if you disable fullscreen optimisations you cant see notifications when you're fullscreen. it's at the bottom of the compatibility tab for hl2.exe:

just like ms to add a slightly broken feature that specifically ENABLES overlays on fullscreen games, than adds ANOTHER slightly broken feature to disable them
