I'm looking for high level 6s video content to help out players interested in competitive, this content will be used in a directory on the TrueTF2 subreddit where players interested in competitive can access it in 2 clicks making it readily available in a contained place. This directory is part of a larger guide to competitive TF2, that includes everything from explaining why competitive has restrictions, to setting proper competitive options, explaining standard competitive terms, setting up Mumble/Discord, how to communicate well, how to join Newbie Mixes, advertising PUG groups for appropriate skill levels, and much more.

These class pages include class specific guides (which I already have from prior made content by other people), descriptions of how the class is utilized/played, and the weapons/unlocks that are currently largely meta.

Currently, Highlander has the most amount of content here and that's largely because I do not actively follow/have contacts with modern 6s players, so I'd like your help in getting 6s to either have as much or (ideally) more content representation than Highlander. If you know of content that meets the criteria or are a top player interested in even contributing just one video for your class, it'd help immensely and add up.

Feel free to post it here or PM me with the content.

Here's the things I'm looking for and the requirements:

(Note: Content should be at least post Jungle Inferno, so that it is more relevant to the current game state.)

POV Videos

* Commentary optional, although it would be appreciated (either live team comms or you playing the POV demo back and commentating on your gameplay)

* Scrims and matches only.

* Highest division in your region's primary league (ESEA/ETF2L/etc) or from the top of the division before it.

* On YouTube (if you streamed on Twitch, you can easily link Twitch to your YouTube and move the VODs over).

* Avoid music or any other content that can get your video region locked.

Demo Review Videos

* Scrims and matches only.

* The Demo Reviewer should play in the highest division in your region's primary league (or from the top of the division before it.), but the Reviewee can be from any division.

* On YouTube (if you streamed on Twitch, you can easily link Twitch to your YouTube and move the VODs over).

* Avoid music or any other content that can get your video region locked.

Utility Clips (fully expecting these to be rare)

* Scrims and matches only.

* Highest division in your region's preferred league or from the top of the division before it.

* Video clip should involve a utility class being used well/being a deciding factor in the game.

* Clip can be a part of a larger video, just give me a time stamp.

* On YouTube (if you streamed on Twitch, you can easily link Twitch to your YouTube and move the VODs over).

* Avoid music or any other content that can get your video region locked.

---

Just in case if someone asks why not demos:

Getting players to read only their config.cfg in order to watch a demo and not have their config potentially replaced if something goes wrong and having to deal with the technical issues some demos have been having with crashing even across small patches, and then having to explain how to tick skip (and deal with those crashing) over-complicates the process too much. This is all about having the ultimate newbie friendly experience - you hover over 6v6 Resources, click the class you want to learn about, and have information at your finger tips.

e: If you have experience playing close to the highest division (high IM etc) I'd accept too at this point.

So I haven't received anything yet and would very much like to feature some 6s class video content on there still, right now there's basically only stuff for Highlander.

If you play in the highest division in your regions prominent league, even if it's just a decent scrim demo from a couple weeks or even a month ago just record it (or give it to someone who can) and throw it on YouTube and link me. You don't really have to do much more than that, even if commentary would be nice.

degui do not know if you're aware of this page http://training.tf2stuff.com that has almost the same concept as your project

Well, the learning resources is also a very small part of the project, but it's also the only part I need actual outside help with.

I'm aware of that page, but the problem is basically that all the content is ancient history (I think the most recent video I found was a single one from early 2016, there is no way to sort by date so ya) and for metas long past now. People just seem to have slowed down on creating video content to help others out, or at least I don't know where/who to go to to find it & no one submitted anything to that page either over the past 3 years.

I'm hoping some helpful high level folks would be willing to submit some updated stuff. I really just need a couple games (commentary or no) for each mainline 6s class and I'd be content, the rest can be built up slowly over time.

I think you should make your requirements a bit more loose. I'm sure there's plenty of top IM players who would be willing to give you POVs but i doubt most of the invite players can be bothered to

TBH I'd accept top IM at this point. 6s has basically nothing while Highlander actually has some classes decked out in content.

Though I think it would be pretty sad if Invite players couldn't actually be bothered to, not only do they have the best footage to submit but they're also more easily able to get other people to do the recording/upload for them lol.

e:

I adjusted the requirements in the OP, if high IM players wanna be cool and help make some content then by all means go ahead.

Things I could use immensely:

Another Medic POV or Demo Review (someone said they were working on one tho)
1-2 Demoman POVs or Demo Reviews (I have literally 0!)
Another Scout POV or Demo Review

Anything extra would be G R E A T but especially when it comes to Demoman I need stuff.

With the high level pov videos/demo reviews to what extent should I try to explain the basics? Or should I just assume a fairly high level of knowledge?

Pretend you're trying to mentor a player in the lowest division of your league. You don't gotta go super hard into stuff like "and now im rolling out because demo rolls out to mid because going fast is good" level of basic (I already try to cover all the basic stuff like that in the other parts of the guide), but stuff like why you're trapping a specific area (or opting to trap), if you go a different rollout why you went that particular rollout, why you're choosing your particular positioning, when you die what you could have done better/what your mistakes were, etc.

That kind of stuff is really helpful for new competitive players.

things that come to mind that are already on youtube:

-habib and shade have some match povs up
-b4nny has a few match demo reviews, mostly of blaze, but at least one of shade (pretty informal)

yeah I got the latter added currently even though they're pretty old (2-2.5 yrs ago) so I don't think the meta is entirely accurate to how teams are currently playing, if you could link me the former that'd be helpful

IMO it's because content made a few years back for newbies is still very relevant today. It's not like the 6s meta now walks on his head like a moba would be.
Sure now crossbow is mandatory and both soldiers use gunboats as standard, but these are small details to the untrained eye, like showing a 2009 broodwar game vs a 2018 one. It's still the same game, it revolves on the same concepts, and details have changed.
