bLai'm not in advocacy of being a furry. i'm just saying, leave someone alone if they like what you don't like. it's the easiest thing in the world.

That's extremely half baked. Furry and brony "fandoms" consist of extreme fetishization of otherwise usually innocent things. To leave them alone would to purposefully ignore the detrimental and degenerative culture surrounding the "fandoms". It's vastly different than making fun of someone, for example, having a taste in music that conflicts with your own. These people are a problem, and I don't want to just "let them be ~~ :) hakuna matata, gamers!"

yeah everyone hates extreme fetishization but you seem to be excluding that it also exists outside of said fandoms. weirdos who are into weird sexual shit are always gonna exist and you're always gonna have to deal with them. it's called reality, and it ain't gonna adapt to your wishes, man.

my best advice would be to shut it all out and move on.

the fact that he has only an interest in playing competitively is a good reflection on the average person (that's above the age of 13) that downloads TF2 for the first time. every single modern FPS in the last 5-some years has had competitive matchmaking that functions and takes center stage as the game's main experience. TF2 will continue to suffer from a lack of new players until we make it the center stage of our game

I know that it exists outside of those fandoms, and I don't like them. I'm not expecting these people to adapt to my wishes or expecting them to just "go away". Because they will always exist shouldn't make me stop publicly shaming them, especially in a society that is only moving in a way where these people will grow in "acceptance". Doing what you are advocating is only defeatism.

I would agree that his experience was far from average, but I don't think anyone really went that far out of their way to make our scene seem more appealing.

As far as scandals in e-sports go, the hive mind dislike of b4nny for 3 weeks at a time a few times a year for being egotistical or whatever isn't even in the same realm different than throwing a match because of $10,000 worth of skins goes a certain direction.

In addition to this, we all kinda want the same thing (for the most part, at least); we want TF2 to be recognized globally as an e-sport and have valve sponsored majors. Support from important figures in larger gaming communities is one of the best ways for this recognition to spread.

Also, we're mean to each other on this website and we trashtalk in game, but every single new person I've seen who posts on this website asking for help receives some semblance of help from someone. I think we're easily one of the most welcoming communities to new players.

That said, if you're shittalking someone who has 500 hours for not being as good as you, with 6000+ hours, that's your own damn problem.

how the fuck is the topic of discussion furries now??

reminder that most of his time was in Casual and comp MM where people didn't know him, as you can see from his video.
He didn't get the "big streamer e-famous" treatment except for when b4nny added him and played with him for a bit. this is one of the most friendly online communities. Anyone that spent some time in MOBAs or other shooters should know that.

WarOwl is probably the most moral and honest Youtuber I've ever watched, to put it in perspective, when CSGO gambling was big, he was offered thousands of dollars in sponsorship money to advertise websites. Apparently he felt very strong about gambling and declined those offers. IIRC the sponsorships he's taken were World of Warships, some instant cooking service, and some online college study website, all things much better than adveritisng gambling websites

TBH, his integrated ads for Blue Apron are some of the few that don't make me skip ahead 5 minutes
