Yes it's annoying but you would also have to consider what would change if it was removed
-You pretty much can't do pocket rollout anymore and pocket has to play second roamer
-Even less people willing to play medic in a community already starved for medics
-No long-distance heals
-Everyone has to be healed at the sluggish 25HP/sec unless they get crit heals

Then again the crossbow also makes shit like this possible

And like other people have said, it can let players get away with things they shouldn't have (which is somewhat similar to random crits).

If people were to even consider banning it, there would need to be some playtesting done of what games would be like without it as well as which syringe guns medics would use in its place and what games with those would be like. Personally I wouldn't mind a slight nerf to damage/healing on the crossbow (maybe make max damage cap at 57 and max healing cap at 113, so 50% reduction in maximum damage/healing? or a 25% reduction to both the minimum and maximum damage/healing) but I would also like to see some buffs to syringe guns so they're not seen as a joke option.

The pocket roll out long existed before the unlock.

You can't compare the crossbow to any other unlock in TF2. If you do, the closest thing you could compare it to is the gunboats. They both increase the pace of the game, and a lot of people like that. At the same time, if you suddenly banned gunboats, I bet a lot more soldiers wouldn't want to play either. The biggest problem though is that gunboats is close to optional, there are soldiers who succeed beyond the unlock. The crossbow doesn't fall into the optional section of unlocks. You're not sacrificing just rocket jumping capabilities. You are sacrificing your team's health, aggression, and momentum. You also get uber % on top of this. I truly believe that how necessary the crossbow is that it's not only bad for competitive, it's bad for TF2 in general. The unlock is necessary in every single setting you play medic in that it's actually ridiculous.

I don't care if it's banned or not as I enjoyed medic before the crossbow existed and will continue doing so. It's really on Valve though, as is most of anything involving unlocks. I would like it if they just buffed the syringes to be as strong as the crossbow.

Now regarding your gunboats statement, who knows if solly mains wouldnt want to play because no gunboats bores them or because without gunboats scouts would be even more dominant...

My team has lost there crossbow privileges as they don't seem to be able to play intelligently around heals with it in play.

Short answer: Its complicated.

Long answer: It allows you to move faster off of player advantages and allows you to re-push with full HP faster then you used to be able to, so in that sense it is faster. But that all hinges on the other team being behind AND the other med not being up. If the other med is up it actually slows things down and elongates fights buy a LARGE margin because you possible have to do 2x or 3x the HP pool of the class to actually kill them. You also cannot push off of damage calls or pack advantage (if you know when they were taken) like you used to be able to do.

Its no secret I hate the fucking thing and want it gone, so feel free to take this with some salt, but the bow really doesn't speed up the game.
