yttriumWe need to disable DWM in order to fix this bug. Aero Lite in Win8 does not disable DWM.

There is a thread on Overclock.net on disabling DWM in windows 8.1 http://www.overclock.net/t/1441921/windows-8-1-no-dwm-aka-aero-aka-desktop-composition

I run fullscreen so i never bothered myself.

I run Windows 7, have two monitors, one @ 120Hz and one at 60hz. Occasionally when alt tabbing I'll randomly get like 60 FPS when I'm normally in the 200-300 range. Sometimes I'll have to restart my game.

I do use Aero and run TF2 in fullscreen.

The normal force disable vsync driver settings actually work on nvidia, unless they decided to remove them entirely in recent driver versions.

I don't understand everything that's being said here. Does the inability to play without aero in win 8 mean that you'll get the same input lag associated with that in win 7 and be completely unable to get rid of it? Do people know if this is also the case in win 10?

After fiddling around with it a little bit I got this working on Windows 10 Technical Preview so I guess it's gonna work on 8 as well, considering that the tutorial wasn't for 10.
Though aside from the (imo)overall worse look, which is the result of removing DWM, there are quite a few bugs, at least on Windows 10.

I mean this technically works, but I'd much rather like an actual fix of how DWM handles multiple displays :/

Well, the guide did mention quite a few bugs even on 8, including a broken login screen. Either way, it's a workaround, but I'm glad it actually does work. This is really promising.

Addresses issue where, in certain hardware configurations, the frame rates of DirectX Games were unintentionally limited to a factor of the display's vertical synchronization.
