yea, I like tf2 but the devs working on all those other games (especially Warframe and Path of Exile) have worked 10x harder and done far more stuff with their games than Valve has with this game

I love this game but TF2 categorically does not deserve. Even the nomination is a bit of a farce.

For me the most difficult thing with these awards is that I have no idea what's going on with other games I don't play. When I read the description of this award:

Show Content
The “Labor of Love” Award – This game has been out for a while. The team is well past the first unveiling of their creative baby, but being the good parents they are, these devs continue to nurture and support their creation. This game, to this day, is still getting new content after all these years.

TF2 is the oldest game (by far) in this category. (Titan Quest was 2006 but the Anniversary Edition is 2016)
It might be true that devs for Warframe or PoE work a lot harder, but that's not the goal of this award when I read the description. The devs of TF2 still care about TF2 even after 10 years. The updates might not be the best, but they still care and they still want to improve TF2/make new content.

I'm not saying you shouldn't vote for the other games, because I have no idea what happens in the other games. But most of the arguments above are invalid or not relevant for the award itself.

This hits so close to home. I play poe now and again and can confirm this it's a really lovely game.

valve only cares about how much money they can milk out of this game and it’s players before it dies. stop lying to yourself, there should be uproar that they even nominated their own game. what a joke. warframe deserves this award.

If the updates are 99% cosmetics that can be bought (and in most cases basically have to be bought since random drops aren't going to happen) then it's not a love for the game that makes you add more content, it's a love for money.
By that logic any EA game with a DLC is a "labor of love".

every game on there has had a lot of support post-release. its a prerequisite for the category in the first place. if age was all that mattered then it wouldnt be much of a competition.

not that it even matters since these awards are just about which game has the most rabid fanboys so itll probably be tf2 or poe anyway.

the warframe devs history with their game is an intense story of dedication to a game an entire industry said would fail, if they dont get the award the vote is a joke

Ignoring basic features, making the game experience worse and pushing micro-transactions to suck money from retards among other things. And they have the audacity to be proud of it...
