enrolling in independent studies where i receive a packet of work at the beginning of the week and only have to show up for school at the end of the week for 3 hours.

which means up until may when i earn my hs diploma i'm going to have a fuck ton of free time.

i was wondering how should i take advantage of this wonderful opportunity?

Whatever you do don't just spend it lounging about, at least in my experience. Currently I'm doing my final secondary (high school) year with half of it spent at college so I have a 4 hour day on monday and tues and a max of 3 hours each day for the rest of the week. Until I actually started making an effort to be busy again, whether it be socially or hobbies or whatever I was really fucking depressed since I just spent all of my time alone at home whilst all of my friends were busy doing their studies and it was a really shit situation. Having that much free time is honestly a bit of a trap and I'd recommend dialing up the time spent on your hobbies, or maybe try to do some extra curricular work like code academy. This is just from my experience so chances are none of this may apply to you but it's something to watch out for.

Start working out. The younger you start the better and being exhausted after a day of work/school is what stops majority of people from going.

Since you have more free time try and get out more and something for yourself that you like. For me I love table tennis so if I had your amount of free I'd prolly just play table tennis during that time and try and get better, maybe even lift weights.

just be productive. look for a job, exercise, do things that are important to you. If you feel like you have nothing important, that's a good time to find something, etc. you'd never regret doing things that help yourself improve as an individual.

Although I'm sure it's tempting to just do fuck all here are my suggestions:

Work for pay ideally something weird. The mom and pop shop, antique or book store, something unusual, as they likely can't give you a ton of hours, but you may have skills they need (computer literacy) - and you won't really have another time in your life to do something simple like that that is enjoyable and get paid for it without any strings being attached to you.

Volunteer somewhere: Libraries, Museums, Animal Shelters, and clinics of various sorts, will always happily take volunteers, there are also lots of organizations that do volunteering in different scenarios that may be unique to your area - especially volunteers that are as computer literate as gamers tend to be. Volunteering well enough also often leads to a job should somebody else leave which can net you something *really* nice. Plus you'll meet tons of interesting people with interesting things to do.

Either or will do. Having money would be nice because it can do wonders for you lol, but volunteering and meeting cool people and doing neat stuff is good too, and it will look good on college applications, financial aid applications, or your resume in general.

Working out or learning an instrument or programming language, or reading classic books isn't bad either - the main thing is not to allow yourself to just do nothing (no matter how tempting), because once you enter that zone it starts to spread to everything you do and before you know it you've got 0 energy, your school work is garbage, and you get stuck in a rut.
