My Pc:

CPU: intel i5-4460 @ 3.20 GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960
RAM: 16 GB
2 SSD's no HDD
Bscly only windows (newest nvidia drivers) and tf2 installed.
Win 10 Home (just reinstalled 3 days ago)

I never had these problems before but since 2-3 weeks my TF2 has some really distracting fps drops.
I've tried many fps configs and different launch options.

current launch options: -windowed -noborder -w 1920 -h 1080 -console -novid -refresh 144

My Framerate is fine until i arrive on (example) cp_snakewater mid - then it drops down from between 200-300 fps to somewhere between 100-130 fps
I have a 144hz moitor and its boring to play with less FPS then the monitor could give me.

EDIT: i just did read that some huds can cause lower fps than other huds do. Im currently using FesHud.
Is it maybe my hud as well?

Does some1 knows why my TF2 is currently like this?

I'd recommend 8.1, fair enough, I use these launch options and have a worse cpu than you but get constant 300+

-sw -console -novid -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

fstiv_i used dx 9.0 but a friend told me dx8.1 is better.

Neither is better, both have their pros and cons. Dx8 is usually better for fps but a lot of people say that dx9 feels smoother so it's all personal preference.

Also, are you using an fps config?

Also also, check your temps

DX9 can give better FPS, except if you have a very lowend or old GPU.

fstiv_useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd are outdated

Not sure what you mean by outdated, they still work

fstiv_also what is -sw?

Doesn't exist

fstiv_this config gives my gameplay a heavy stuttering

Sorry to hear that! Did you properly reset TF2 and install it in the correct folder with the specified launch options? and what preset did you use?

Hm, wasn't able to find it in the code at first, sorry.

What folder did you install it in and what were your launch options when you tried my config?

mastercomsWhat folder did you install it in and what were your launch options when you tried my config?

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\my_custom_stuff\cfg
and: -windowed -noborder -w 1920 -h 1080 -console -novid (<- not 100% sure)
EDIT: fps were fine with the config tho - it just felt like 10 fps or something...

Try these launch options

-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -noff -nohltv -softparticlesdefaultoff -reuse -primarysound -snoforceformat -swapcores -high -r_emulate_gl

Any reason you use windowed mode?

Try these launch options
-novid -nojoy -nosteamcontroller -noff -nohltv -softparticlesdefaultoff -reuse -primarysound -snoforceformat -swapcores -high -r_emulate_gl
my tf2 keeps changing the resolution from 1980x1080 to 1980x1020 (dunny why) its giving me a black screen foe 2 seconds every time my game is launching.
- I'll try these launch options
