Hi.

Allegations that I've neglected this plugin are wholly appropriate. It's been a wild time these past few months, but unfortunately CompCtrl got shafted because I chose to focus on other projects. As a result, this plugin has been broken due to recent TF2 updates.

That's all changing pretty soon, with a new update to 0.3.0 in the works fixing known issues and adding some new things. As part of this update, a new drafting module will be released - pretty much the process of picking players for a PUG automated and in-game like you might see in ESEA.

The plugin seems mostly ready to go, but I need some testing to verify (since I'm a bad player and don't have any friends to test with as a result). Therefore, if you're a group of players (preferably an in-house PUG group, so that this plugin will actually have some use to you) and are interested in helping test this new module, please let me know.

Also, if you're someone who would like these fixes before they're officially released (since I'll be holding a release until the draft module is ready to go), please contact me and I'll get you hooked up with the latest development versions.

Thanks again for your support and feedback - they're much appreciated.

It's been a long time. Too long.

CompCtrl 0.3.0 is now available. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any major additions, being mostly an update to get in line with the changes made in Gun Mettle, including removing the functionality added natively in the update and updating the gamedata. The new additions do include status updates via the HUD (depending on your HUD - you have to have minmode disabled and have a certain element enabled and visible), and live-on-x-restarts functionality like you see in ESEA.

Unfortunately, the PUG module mentioned in the works for this release was scrapped; it needed to be updated to the new SourceMod syntax and I didn't feel too great about how it was designed in the first place. That means it's shelved for now, but I am open to working on it again if there is interest.

On the bright side, I have thrown together a script which takes the hard work out of checking for any gamedata changes when an update hits, so it should be much easier to get this plugin working again when Valve inevitably breaks it again.

That's all I have for now - if you have any suggestions or feedback, feel free to express them per usual. Thanks again.

CompCtrl 0.4.0 is out with some very exciting features - strategy periods in between rounds and map timer pausing.

Basically, freeze time like in TF2, except you can't move and the round is not running. This allows for a much longer pre-round pause time that's separate from rollouts. You can also pause during this time, like you see in CS:GO with tactical pauses.

Yes, it's actually being actively used by PugChamp.

I'm not sure about whether UGC would ban it or not, but I don't think it would be an issue as long as the rules match up.

From what I can tell, the plugin just starts off the bat no matter what, probably to allow it to be used even if you accidentally started the match with the regular configs. That's not really intuitive behavior, though, so I'll probably make a patch to execute a tournament restart while starting a match.

Yes, the tournament restart will put it back to the ready up period and reset scores. Anything in progress will be lost.

if pugchamp is using it, two questions:

1) why does it carry over damage from pregame
2) why does it break p-rec

flatline1) why does it carry over damage from pregame

The plugin doesn't do anything to interfere with player stats, so I'm not sure where the issue lies.

flatline2) why does it break p-rec

I'm reasonably certain that it's not CompCtrl breaking P-REC, but the usage of the new player ready system. You'd have to ask Valve and/or Orange to be certain.

When I attempt to run your plugin on my server, I get the error "Load error: Required extension "CompCtrl" file("compctrl.ext") not running". I've installed both versions of the plugin (Linux and Windows) to no avail. The extension did not appear when checking my "meta list" or after using the "sm exts list". Anyone know why this is?
