Alright, who else is in Texas and planning on riding this bad boy out? The 00z GFS run has it making landfall near Corpus as a strong Cat 3 and then just parking by the coast for basically 100 hours. I'm over in the Houston area, projected to get ~20" of rain but some models have gone off the deep end and are saying 40"-60"+

No Houston area evacuations yet, just some of the coastal areas near Galveston and obviously a bunch out near Corpus. At this point for Houston it might be too late, it'll just cause grid lock

The last euro and GFS runs were pretty much worst case scenarios for everywhere from Corpus to Houston. Major stall near Corpus, then reentering the gulf, strengthening, and making landfall again near Houston. Areas east of Houston are like at potentially 5 days of heavy rain.

If these model runs continue to hold up, I'm expecting widespread evacuation orders

I didn't even know there was a hurricane until my parents texted me asking if I was ready
so uh, wish me luck i guess. on the brightside, this hurricane is giving me my first weekend off in over a year. silver linings and all

I'm in spring. we had some terrible flooding around this time last year so well see what happens this year. I was in Huntsville earlier today and things have been pretty busy so maybe i should be mote worried.

I'm in Fourth Ward. You guys could get flooding but the good news for both of you is that you wouldn't have to drive too far north to be in the [relatively] clear

I'm in Huntsville three times a week so if you want to grab lunch or something I'm not against the idea
we've just barely ever spoken to each other which is why I didn't think to visit you
also turns out there's a case of water in the trunk of my car so it looks like I'm set B)

Event rainfall totals through Wednesday evening are expected to be 15 to 30 inches with isolated maximum
amounts of 40 inches. The greatest rainfall threat area is expected to be generally along and south of a line from College
Station to Livingston.
