The season has concluded.

What did you think to our coverage this season?
What do you think was good?
What do you think was bad?
Why do you thinks those things?
What would you like to see in future?

I like the fact that most of the grand finals games were casted.

I love all the casts, the coverage was really good and I like the fact that pretty much every single match in prem was casted as well as the grand finals in most divisions. The production was of a really good quality and watching matches was a pleasure. What I didn't like is lack of ideas what to talk about during slower parts of the games. I also didn't like that moment when gemm had to restart his TF2 and in the meantime casters were talking nonsense - it shouldn't happen, imo. I'd like to hear more interviews with players and maybe (?) a new hud.

Casting was good most of the time, and only few matches were boring to watch, all the rest were really enjoyable.

fuck sorry for double post i meant to edit this into the one above

_segfaultI also didn't like that moment when gemm had to restart his TF2 and in the meantime casters were talking nonsense - it shouldn't happen, imo.

yes, this was partially my fault since i restarted just before a fight, i wasnt paying much attention and thought it'd be stale for a bit. I always try to let the casters know when it's a radio cast, and im sure they'll try commentate more if that happens at a bad time in future.

btw, ive no idea what causes that bloom issue but ill have a look through my cfg later. it happened again in the gf but went away for some reason. honestly twitch chat overreacts to it though and its triggering when the whole chat is criticizing production when im sure they'd rather have that than a radio cast for a couple mins

_segfaultI'd like to hear more interviews with players.

we got interviews after almost every game tbh, and when casters seem a bit less enthusiastic i make them :^) at the end of the day we can't force players to come for interviews, we invite them, so if teams are missing it's generally because they declined (se7en often declined or didnt respond to me)

i'd be interested to see other div games if casters were available (maybe use as a casters drive idk?) or atleast some of the expected playoff games for like high or something

Everything else was pretty good, keep up the good work :P

also dolly was the most informed caster this season, felt like he actually had insight into the teams and showed a genuine interest outside of simply commentating :)

charlePlease dont put ever with hiipfire again.

my mistake, was planned pretty last minute and we had faceit just before/during which we had promised too

hildreth1) We were always told to bring max of 2 ppl yet you allowed aF to have more than 2 on more than one occaison.

personally i say 2 max because i like the idea of interviews from both teams, and 4 is plenty. we dont have a standard for that or anything atm and in the past i think we only did winner interviews. i let af off with that because it was a one-time thing, and requires either a bit of back-and-forth to decide which 2 come in or some players left out if i just pick 2. if people keep purposefully breaking it (i brought like 6 af players in last night as an exception) then i guess i'll enforce that more, but sorry if you felt a bit shafted that time

Feedback on interviews I have two things:

1) We were always told to bring max of 2 ppl yet you allowed aF to have more than 2 on more than one occaison.

2) Some of the nterviews I did for the most part the castershad nothing to ask me other than stuff we went over before. For my money questions should cover the basics such as "Thoughts on the game?" "Happy with 3 points today?" "What went wrong on Mids for Gullywash?" "Did you have a plan to counter Sheepys sentry spots on Badlands last?" Etcetc. Ie actually asking about the context of the game and how it unfolded.

Also though most people will try their best to act modest, try to be a journalist and bait some.drama with questions like "Thoughts on the default drama?" "Do you have a rivalry with this team?" And ask controversial questions. Drama.keeps the scene alive after all.

I've not been very active this season for tftv but anytime I've been casting I felt the interview went down well for the most part, and we used questions to cover the context of the game before asking any controversial stuff - maybe that's just my experience, I'd be interested to hear other interviewees opinions on this.

try to get more experienced/insightful people to do color (or even play by play) because a lot of the casts seem like its just two people reading the kill feed. i know its hard to catch all the action thats happening but this season more than ever has it felt like a lot of the action or context of a fight is completely missed.

i love nuze and dolly's casts for the reason above and pairing them more (and finding more people like them) with other play by play casters works so much better than having 2 more inexperienced players casting together. it almost always feels lackluster and all over the place and i usually just have to mute the cast and watch the game.

I don't think the coverage is quite up to the standards of the days of Sideshow, Gecks, DavidTheWin, Admirable etc yet but I think it'll definitely get there eventually with the majority of casters/producers we have right now constantly learning and improving. Due to lack of star talent I think anyone who is volunteering and actually trying is doing a good enough job at this point in time, so I'll echo this:

WFlashTurboTabs, Beater, gemm, Nuze, zeFrosty, Hiipfire, etc... you all are doing God's work, keep it up please :)

Unfortunately as much as Gubbins was harsh in his analysis, I do agree with the vast majority of his criticism; casters should be held to account when they're not bothering to do their job properly and are just turning the coverage into a memefest. I really feel like it's quite disrespectful to the players, viewers and community in general when you're not at least trying to be as professional as you can. It also probably deters sponsors and other people from volunteering when there's a lack of professionalism.

I haven't watched much of ever_x so I can't really comment on his performance other than what I saw on Gubbins' stream, but there's definitely a few casters who should be really good but just don't seem to be putting in the effort. For example I think WARHURYEAH has put out really good analysis in the past but in the last few casts I watched it seems like he hasn't really taken it seriously. I don't know if Bren casted this season but I definitely saw one or two casts in the past where it didn't really seem like he was trying, even though he's probably the best play-by-play caster I can think of from this generation.

There's also an issue of caster bias; Lowpander and Se7en have had it pretty rough on that front. You may not like or agree with their playstyles but if that's the case I'd like to see why you think their playstyle is flawed rather than just making fun and shittalking.

I don't really have any criticism for the NA side of TFTV; in my opinion they're doing a really good job so shoutouts to Marxist, sandblast, cornpop etc; keep up the good work!

.

I feel like I was the main culprit of this, and I think it's genuinely good feedback, it's annoying to have a successful cast tainted by awkward interviews, interviews are always hard since they're so contextual and require a decent amount of astute observation, that's why you see other games have analysis desks take that role instead of casters (who's view on the game is shrouded by hype and simply saying what they see) , but it is something I will try and improve on and is fairly easy to solve, so thankyou.

Also big big love to all the producers, this gets overused a lot but it's hard to do what they do and not make mistakes, since mistakes are so noticeable when you're controlling the show, but for inexperienced, young people to step up to the plate, even from NA late into the night is remarkable. Even if they're work is not always flawless, it's incredible considering they're asking nothing in return, and they did do a very smooth job this season in covering ALL the games, so big love to tftv producers <3

I really hate to do this because i really think Hiiprfire is a sick person, but I've found his casts to be very unenthusiastic, uninteresting and slow. Admittedly he's been casting for just 2 seasons, still I feel there's been very little improvement between his first few casts and his latest ones.

Definitely agree with my latest casts being quite lackluster, have spoke a lot with people about the prem winners finals cast in particular, but I'd appreciate any feedback on my casting in that match or just in general

IMO you need to try and add a bit of excitement in your voice for the viewers. I'm mean, you enjoy casting and watching the match, show it. :)

I loved war casts this season, he has such a good flow to it , fun to listen to, while he can also be a very good analyst aswell. Also I didn't really enjoy turbotabs casts as they always have such a casual feel to it, no disrespect, turbotabs does alot of things behind the lines and is very underapreciated but his casts are lack luster in my opinion. Thank you for all the casts and production work anyway, you guys are doing gods work
