Does anyone have a clue what the difference between v8 and v10 is more than v10 probably being a better computer. What was the difference last year?

I remember Multiplay supplying some Razer Peripherals for a small Uni LAN I went to so its probably gonna be something like that.

There were Abyssus Mice, Deathstalker Keyboards, Small Goliathus Speed Mousepads and Kraken Headsets.

Thanks! Only question remaining then is wether the monitors are both 60hz, both 120/144hz or 60hz in the v8 and 120/144 in the v10 pack..

It's quite weird as well since I tweeted insomnia about the different pcs and they pretty much tried to dodge the question about specs, when rentals can already be booked

Pretty sure last year you could get a 144hz benq monitor with either the v8 or v10 and the peripherals being something separate (probably have to pay a bit more if you didn't bring your own stuff). I think I got the v10 just to be safe cause tf2 is so cpu reliant and for streaming.

For TF2 without streaming there's basically no difference between an i5 and an i3 though.
Unless you absolutely need the SSD to be the first on the server everyone else can save themselves those 60 quid if they're not planning on streaming.

Would really like some actual confirmation on the specs though.

Is there any update on what the headsets/mouse/keyboard/mat is? I was forced to buy the full set because I was too late on the essentials only. Do you think I could just reject everything but the essentials when i get there and use my own stuff or is everything like locked to the PC...

I have been told it's razer stuff, but not 100% sure

I suppose it would be weird if they told me i couldnt turn in the stuff i didnt want. Doesnt make any sense that the V8s would be sold out but not the Full V8s though..

Contradicting what the sales manager said, insomnias ticket website says v8 has 60hz monitor. I feel slightly fucked by insomnia right about now...

HI

Thank you for your email.

I have checked with the Insomnia team and can confirm that, the monitor on the V8 package was always 60hz but when we went on sale we didn’t have all the details, so these were added at a later date.

If you have booked a rental package and would like to upgrade please call one of the sales team on 0844 338 8000, lines are open weekdays from 9am - 7pm and weekends from 9am- 5pm.

Kind of irresponsible to not inform properly before going on sale but at least they're offering the possibility to upgrade so at least that's something

Do you think that we could just bring our own monitor and peripherals and refuse everything but the PC at the event?

that makes me kinda relieved. I was really not keen on having to pay the extra money for a monitor. Would it be wise to leave your own monitor in the venue or should you take it back to the hotel like u would yor keyboard, mouse etc. ?

At i49 I left pc and everything in the venue, at i52 i rented pc and monitor but brought the mouse and keyboard etc to the hotel.

You will get a sticker to put on the monitor which matches the badge you will get. The guards are really anal about these things and get very pissed if your stuff doesnt have a sticker. So it should be fine. Buut you never know I guess

So, can everyone who's ordered a v8 in the hope of getting a 144hz monitor send me a message on discord: Heny #7551. We'll try to sort things out for those who couldn't upgrade, no guarantees however.
